Chapter 25: Bryn- King?!
Silence. It was so silent in this room that you could hear a pin drop. Victorie seemed unfazed by the King’s appearance. It was if she saw him every day!
“Come on. Everyone at the front gates in ten. If you’re not there we are leaving you behind.” Victorie said. She got up from the table and left the hall, her chair falling down behind her as she left.
“And she’s pissed.” The King said. “No matter. That’s typical isn’t it Lotte?”
“Uh, yeah, it is!” Lotte said with a smile.
“I didn’t expect him to be so,” I whispered to Maia.
“So, silly?” She replied.
“Yeah, for the Kingdom of Blades, the one who protects us from the outskirts, I didn’t expect him to be like this.”
“Yeah, but who knows what the other King is like.” Maia said.
“Hey Mitch! The Pope needs you!” Another voice called from somewhere in the castle. The King smiled warmly.
“I’m commin’!” The King replied. “Well, I’ve got to go now. You guys better as well, you haven’t seen what Victorie is like when she’s angry.” The King ran out of the room soon afterwards.
“Uh, that was interesting to say the least!” Ace said with a smile.
“Now, I don’t know about you guys, but I rather not get on Victorie’s bad side.” Lotte said. “So in other words, I’m out!” Lotte got up from her chair and raced out of the room. I took one look at Nicolette and we had the same thought, let’s go! We got up from our chairs and ran to our room. I grabbed my bag and fumbled with the straps of my dagger’s sheathe. Nicolette grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the room. She let go a couple of seconds later and we ran towards the meeting place. Thankfully we weren’t the last people there. It seemed like Kade and Moss still had to come as well as Violet and Honour. Victorie was talking to Lotte, it was obvious she was mad.
“Wow, she’s pissed isn’t she?” I asked Tess.
“Yeah, I hope she isn’t like this the entire trip.” She replied.
“Agreed.” We stood there in silence for a couple of minutes, it was quite awkward. When I looked back over at her, somehow her hair was blowing in the wind, but, there wasn’t any. Tess blushed and she immediately held down her hair, as if she knew what was causing it. I moved her hands slightly and allowed her hair to be free so to say. “Why hid it?”
“Because, it’s weird.” She replied.
“No it’s not. It’s actually quite pretty.” I said. Immediately I blushed. What the heck did I just say! “Wait! Don’t take that the wrong way! Please, I didn’t mean anything bad!” I blurted out.
“It’s fine! Don’t worry” Tess said, she blushed slightly as well and we left to go and talk to other people. I went over to Alex and he smirked.
“Sooo, I totally didn’t just see what happened there.” Alex said.
“Seriously! Just don’t tell anyone else okay?” I asked.
“Alright, but we both know that you have a crush on her.”
“No I don’t!” I exclaimed.
“Yeah you do, remember on the first day we met each other you and her talked together away from us.” I sighed and crossed my arms slightly.
“I guess you’re right.”
“Alright! Let’s move out!” Victorie yelled. I looked towards her and sure enough everyone was here. I guess this is it. The last day I would spend in the Kingdoms. And you know what?
I wasn’t going to miss it that much.
