Chapter 19: Victorie- Cleaning?

“You cannot be expecting me to clean!” I yelled.

“Yeah! Don’t you have servants or something to do it for us?!” Lotte added on.

“Nope. You guys are helping.” Mitch said sternly.

“But Mitch! You seriously expect me to clean!” I yelled back.

“You sure about this Mitch? I mean, you know what she’s like when she gets angry.” Jerome said to Mitch.

“You’re helping. Whether you like it or not.” Mitch said, he was holding a broom out to me. I swatted the broom out of his hand and it fell to the ground with a bang.

“Cut the small talk. You. Me. Sparring outside in ten, you win, I’ll clean, I win, you do the cleaning.” I said sternly.

“I would love to see that.” Lotte said.

“I’m cool with it.” Mitch said.

“Great. I’ll get the arena set up.” Jerome said.  I smirked and Lotte walked with me to my room. I opened the door and opened the closet. Inside I grabbed a black tank top and some gray shorts.

“This is going to be great.” Lotte said.

“You bet. I’m going to beat him into the dust.” I said, grabbing some fingerless combat gloves I pulled them on.

“Aren’t you two friends though?”

“Yeah. But if Mitch expects me to clean, he’s dead.” I said with a smirk. I pulled on some boots and we walked out of the room and down to the grounds. When we walked outside, I sighed. Of course Mitch had to go and get some spectators for this sparring match.  “You just had to do that didn’t you Mitch?” I mumbled.

“And welcome everyone to the Hunger Deans!” Jerome said loudly.

“Hunger Deans? Really?” I said with a sigh. Mitch was on top of a platform, waiting for me.  I climbed up and gave Mitch a challenging look. Mitch smirked and crossed his arms.

“Ready to clean?” Mitch said.

“In your dreams.” I scoffed.

“Now, our competitors, King Mitch!” Jerome said gesturing to Mitch. The crowd cheered and I rolled my eyes. “And, his competitor, Victorie!” The crowd cheered as well and I smirked.

“Ready to lose Mitch?!” I yelled teasingly.

“Are you?” He retaliated.

“Now. In three! Two! One! Fight!” Jerome yelled with enthusiasm.  I dropped into a fighting stance and we circled each other.  Mitch gave a small smirk and ran towards me. I knew his plan and moved slightly to the right. He turned quickly around and threw a punch my way. I blocked it with my left arm and hopped back slightly.  I threw a punch to his right shoulder and as I suspected he blocked it. Giving me the opportunity to kick his legs out from under him. Succeeding I went down with him and held his arms down to the ground.

“So didn’t expect that didn’t ya?” I grumbled.

“Nice move. But it wasn’t a power one!” He retaliated. He brought his head forward quickly and head butted me in the chin. My head snapped back and I got off of Mitch.

“Sneaky move.” I said, brushing my chin. “But you know that’s not going to work on me.” I charged at him and kicked him in the chin. His own head snapped back and I grinned. Taking the opportunity, I punch him in the gut, knocking the breath out of him. He winced and tried to kick me in the side. I dodged and punched him in the head.  His eyes fluttered, but he kept on going. I punched him once again. But he grabbed my fist. Stopping the punch. I tried to get out of his hand, but his fingers tightened around my fist. I smirked and kicked his kneecap, something he was expecting. Mitch was down on one knee, the crowd roared with passion.

“Now. We finished here?” I asked with a smirk.

“Not a chance.” He replied. From out of nowhere, a stray fist came flying towards my face. Too fast for me though. It hit me straight in the face. I felt a shock of pain and my right eye started to sting. Shit, that’s going to leave a mark. I stepped back and allowed for Mitch to get up, it wasn’t fun anymore.  “Had enough?” Mitch asked.  I stepped closer to him and kicked him in the face. Mitch slumped down to the ground

“No. But I think you have.” I said with a smirk. Mitch tried to get back up but he stayed down.

“And the winner is Victorie!” Jerome said. As the crowd cheered, I helped Mitch get back up.

“I’ll heal you back at the castle.” I whispered.

“Alright. Sorry about hitting you in the eye.” Mitch replied.

“Likewise.” I replied. We helped each other off the platform and we hobbled back to the castle. I healed Mitch first and then Mitch called a healer to heal me. Unfortunately, healers couldn’t heal themselves, it was weird that way. I helped Mitch clean and went to bed later that night.
