Chapter 24: Alex- Beginnings.

 Chapter 23: Alex- Beginnings.

"Come on! Just wake up already!" A voice shouted from next door.

"I sware, if you aren't up in two seconds your toast!" Another voice shouted.

I quickly got up before Maia started to wake me up, because if she was anything like the other pairs then it wouldn't be pleasant. The groups were put into rooms in order of the Kingdoms. Lilac and Aerith were on our left and Bryn and Nicolette were on our right. But somehow I could still hear Tess shouting from there room.  Which didn't surprise me at all. Looking over to Maia's bed I saw that she was still sound asleep.

"Alright, time to wake up Maia." I said shaking her shoulder. She groaned and sat up.

"Mornin' Alex. It's time to go already?" Maia asked, rubbing her eyes.

"Yeah, come on, better late than never." I was ushered out of the room as Maia got dressed. Which left me in the hallway still in my pyjamas.  Which was never a good thing in a castle full of important people, I sighed and heard a big slamming noise from the room next door. Looking over I saw Bryn outside, in his pyjamas as well. But he was clutching his nose.  "Hey Bryn, let me guess you pissed of Nicolette somehow?"

"I just asked her a question! Didn't realise it would lead to this." He said, he pinched the bridge of his nose and thankfully a passing by healer fixed his nose for him. "Thanks." He said, the man bowed and walked away.

"What did you even ask her about?"

"She seemed uneasy being here and I asked why, when she didn't even give me a glance I asked again, and then that lead to this."

"You know she's mute right?" I whispered.

"Of course I knew that! Normally she nods her head or gives me a look, something like that."

"You ever think she has a bad history with this Kingdom?" I questioned.

"It's not my place to ask but if I had to take a guess at why she punched me then, that would be the answer."

"Alex! You can come back in now!" I heard Maia call from inside our room. I smiled and looked at the door.

"See you in a bit." I said.

"See ya." Bryn said. I grabbed the doorknob and nodded before I went inside. Maia left as I went in and I got changed, I chuckled to myself as I heard Ace and Tess joking with each other.  I wasn't surprised I could hear them from in here. I heard a knock on the door and pulled a new shirt over my head.

"Who is it?" I called out.

"It's Victorie. Meeting in the hall in ten minutes." The voice called, muffled by the door.

"Got it." I yelled back. Before I left the room, I opened up the window near the back of the room and called for Galaxy. In a flurry of feathers, she landed on the window sill. I rubbed under her chin and smiled. "Hey girl, you doing alright?" She hooted in response and I sighed. "Alright, I'll see you soon okay?" Galaxy nodded and flew away. After I closed the window, I made my way down to the hall. Everyone was sitting around a large table, chatting amongst themselves. I sat down next to Maia and she smiled.  Minutes later Kade and Moss ran into the room, Kade's hair was a mess and Moss had a look of pure annoyance on her face.

"Sorry about that! Kade here would not wake up." Moss said taking a seat.

"It's fine, but the meeting is going to have to be cut short though. I would have liked to plan some things more before we left." Victorie complained.

"So, what's our plan? Just travel the outskirts till we find something big and evil?" Tess  said.

"Actually there is a map that came with the scroll to the Kingdom of Blades. The location of the 'big and evil' thing is on there." Ace answered with a smirk.  

"And here that is." Lotte said, she pushed an old map into the center of the table. "We're here." She said indicating a certain point on the map. "And this is where we need to go." Lotte continued pointing to another spot on the map, not too far away from the last.

"And what is going to be there?" I asked.

"There is going to be seven towers. Each tower has something guarding it, we aren't sure what exactly but each has a huge amount of magical power." Aerith explained.

"And you guys expect us to beat them?" Kade questioned.

"As I was saying, the objects that either the King or Queen, or both gave you will help you in the process." Aerith finished.

"Cool. When do we leave?" I asked. The others looked at each other, trying to make up their minds.

"I think right now is a good time." A voice said. I looked towards the voice and there was a man, around our age, maybe a bit older leaning up against the wall.  The man had brown hair, and brown eyes. He was wearing a red and black checkered shirt and some jeans. But what surprised me the most was the golden crown on his head.  I heard someone gasp and then it hit me.

The man stepped out of the shadows, a smile upon his face.

"I don't think I've introduced myself." The man said.

"Oh brother." Victorie groaned.

"Oh quiet you." The man mocked. "I'm Mitch, King of the Kingdom of Blades.
