This morning was a pain. By the time I got to school I was thankful to be out of a house filled with neglect. I got to the gates of my school. Locked. No one was around, I checked my watch. 6:46. I grunt, I still have fourteen minutes untill I'm allowed inside the building.

I turn up the volume of song playing on my headphones, and I take a look around. My heart skips a beat as I see something silver and shiny reflect the light.

It's just a candy wrapper, calm the hell down.

Thinking of candy I decide to walk over to the corner shop to see if I can get anything that will boost my energy up a bit. After the candy wrapper, I'm anxious and jumpy, constantly looking around the streets making sure there's no one suspicious around. I can't shake this uneasy feeling that something bad is going to happen.

I walk into the shop and the familiar ring of the bell above the door is comforting. I smile towards the bored looking clerk playing with a coin. Milky bar, kit-kat, Snickers, Maltesers. I'm trying to decide if I should take more than one when I feel something small and wet lick my leg.

Oooh! A puppy!

I crouch down and pet the Labrador retriever with both hands, his fluffy thin blonde hair going everywhere.

I've never seen this dog around here before...who's..?

I glance upwards to look at the man holding the dogs leash and I feel my body go weak, a pang of an acidic frenzy bursts by my neck and I feel the bile rise up my throat.

A bald man in full silver and glasses looks down at me with his hand reaching out towards my neck. The corners of my vision start to darken and next thing I know I'm against cold hard tile staring up at the fluorescently lighted ceiling of the store.
