We were actually connecting. Of course not the biggest priority that should come to mind when you've been kidnapped and put in a room, but the longer I thought about it, the more it actually proved to be important that we built a trustworthy....uh....friendship.
We sat there, her head on my shoulder, my arm around her. I was comforting her because her loneliness...it just radiated off of her hunched up physique so loud, it would've taken one hell of a heartless person to ignore the fact that she needed someone.
She didn't really say much, but I understood that it wasn't because it was an awkward situation. I was feeling the exact same: Anxious. Detached. Numb.
BOOM
We both jumped in unison, our hearts banging to escape our ribs yet our bodies too limp and powerless to move.
Where could we run to anyways?
My eyes scanned the perimeter of the room trying to find what made tha-

Following the sound my attention was drawn to the wall adjacent to ours, on our right.
The door I came in through the first time.
"Gerard..." Her voice croaks from having her lips pressed together for so long.
"Wha.....what was that?" I feel her grip onto my torso, arm holding onto my chubby chest.

She realizes how tightly she was gripping onto my chest and lets go, composing herself. Without looking back at me, she gets up and walks towards the "sanitation ports".
Though we know that they're technically just bathrooms, I would've liked her to still have a bit of an eye out. Instead, she strode off into the left port, barely half a second of hesitation before she stepped in.
"Once fully inside the sanitation port, your clothes are to be removed and placed in the duct. Then proceed to enter the shower area."
Then what? I think to myself for a brief moment before- oh yeah, dumbass.
I watch her cautiously inspect the little cabin, her eyebrows coming close together in a concentrating frown creating a little crease right above the bridge of her nose. She flicks a small switch, and the lights lining the edge of the mirror illuminate, causing her smile to do the same.
She looks over at me laughing,
"You didn't tell me I looked this horrible"
