Angelo
I gasp as I sit up in my bed, sputtering. I shake my head, flinging my wet hair around and wipe the water off of my face with the sheets.
"What the-" I lower the sheets and open my eyes to see Daxia standing above me with an empty cup.
"They fixed the water," She says.
I nod and look around the room. Nicholas's bed is made and he doesn't seem to be here anymore. I look at Daxia who is already dressed in black leggings and a black oversized T-shirt that I'm pretty sure she took from someone. She walks over to her bed and sits down, pulling on her sneakers.
"Come on, it's already nine thirty. We were supposed to be down half an hour ago," She stands up and ties her hair up.
"Be where?" I ask, still confused and trying not to have a heart attack after being woken up with freezing cold water.
"Training. With James," Daxia walks over and hands me my shirt, which I take and pull over my head.
"Uhm, do you mind?" I ask.
She raises her eyebrow.
"I'm not wearing any pants," I say.
She rolls her eyes.
"Don't worry, you're not my type. They guys I go for only give me attention when they think the girl they like is dead," She stands there with a hand on her hip.
"Hurry up, we don't have all day!" She says.
I sigh, but stand up anyways and walk over to the foot of the bed, picking up my pants. I pull on some sneakers as well and then turn to look at Daxia.
"There! Are you happy?" I ask.
"No, but it'll do. Now come on,"
I follow her out of the room and down the hallway when something hits me.
"Wait, why didn't you leave with anyone else?" I ask.
She glances over at me as we near an elevator that I had no idea was there. She pushes the button and we wait for it to open.
"Because it's kind of difficult to walk somewhere when you're dead," she replies.
The elevator dings and the doors open. We both step in and Daxia punches the last button.
"Wait a minute, you just woke up?" I ask.
Daxia nods, looking over at me.
"Isn't that, I don't know, weird?" I say.
Daxia shrugs.
"I don't know, I've only died twice," She says.
I'm about to say something else when the elevator doors open. We step out into a room that looks like the upgraded version of the training rooms back at the old Headquarters. The walls in the room are navy, with giant rectangular screens places a few inches apart. They look like the ceiling did in the conference room, there's a glow from behind them that lights up the room. The room is huge, I can see the other side of it from where we stand, but I can see that the room is shaped like an L, where part of it is hidden to the right of a wall. I see weapons that I recognize and weapons that I've never seen before, and an entire wall of guns. And not just any guns, they look like guns from a sci-fi movie or military weapons. The floors on the room have a weird, honeycomb pattern. I look over and spot everyone in a small group.
"Finally," I hear Lola say.
I follow Daxia as she walks over towards the crowd. She pushes her way through until she nears James, who stands in the center.
