"They're sending us out today,"

I turn around to look at Byron, who has just entered the training room. He's wearing the regular outfits we were all given on our first day here, and so are the rest of us.

"But we've only been training for three days," Saya Dalia.

"Yeah, they're not sending you guys out. Only some of us," He says.

I look around the room at everyone else.

"Sending us where, exactly?" James asks.

Byron walks over to a table and sets down a box and what looks like a map.

"Marcus Lawrey, he's part of the security team. He's a guardian angel. He was kidnapped by a gang of Nephilims. We're going to go bring him back," He says.

"Who is we?" Lola asks.

Byron sighs and pulls out a piece of paper from his pocket.

"James, Lincoln, Lola, Sebastian, Daxia, and me," He replies.

"Daxia isn't even here. And her wound hasn't healed yet," I say.

"Grace gave her some of her blood, it healed enough that she was able to get the stitches removed yesterday," Angelo replies.

I look over at Byron.

"Alright, so what's the plan?" I ask.

He opens up the map.

"There are two main exits that lead outside. They're invisible to regular humans, but the one we're using will put us about two streets away from the Nephilim hideout. It's this old, abandoned warehouse. We're going to need to plan this out carefully. We'll have one person here," He draws an x on a part of the map.

"Keeping watch over everything. Two others will need to sneak in through the back of the building in order to get to Marcus, who is being kept at the back of the building, near an entrance that leads to an alley." He draws two more x's on the map.

"Now, we'll also need someone up on the buildings, who can have a view of everything, in case something goes wrong. And, of course, we'll need a distraction."

"Aka, me."

I look up to see Daxia walking towards us. She's wearing a red trench coat, which goes down to her knees. Her hair has been done, and she's wearing makeup. I watch as she stops next to me, peering over at the map. I look down and see the five-inch heel on her shoe.

"You're insane. There's no way you're going to be the bait," I say.

She flips her hair over her shoulder.

"Oh please, I love seducing men with my looks only to kill them later," She says.

I shake my head.

"Is your leg feeling better?" Lola asks.

Daxia turns her head towards her.

"Yes, it is actually. Were you thinking of taking another shot at it?" She says back.

Lola rolls her eyes but doesn't say anything. Byron closes up the map and opens the box and hands each of us an ear piece.

"This is so we can communicate with each other. Let's go," He walks back towards the elevator and Lola, Sebastian, James, Daxia, and I follow close behind.

"Good luck!" Grace calls.

We stand in the elevator as it goes all the way up to the highest floor. We step off into an empty hallway that looks like some kind of tunnel.
