Angelo
"What the hell just happened?" Lola asks.
Nobody says anything, we all just stare at James. He looks around, confused. I look over at Lola's mom and Daxia's dad, who look just as confused as James and just as scared as I feel.
"How did you kill him?" Mrs. Naites asks.
James lifts his hand, showing us the knife he used to kill Alexander. Then he shrugs.
"I don't know, I didn't think it would kill him. I thought only a pure demon could do that," He says.
I study him as he talks, and I notice that the cannibalistic teeth are gone. I breathe a sigh of relief. At least he isn't going to try to tear us apart.
"James, do you feel strange at all?" Grace asks.
James looks over at her and shakes his head.
"Not really, why?" He asks.
"You grew dozens of razor blade teeth a few seconds ago," Sebastian says. I look over at him as he walks a bit closer to James, but stays a couple feet away.
James opens his mouth, running his tongue over his teeth.
"They're gone now," He says.
"Yeah, but something isn't right," I say.
I watch as Mr. Felleman slowly walks over to James.
"May I look at the back of your neck?" He asks in a thick British accent.
I realize that this is the first time I've ever heard him speak. Or the first time I've ever paid attention to him speaking. James nods, and I watch as Mr. Felleman walks behind James, and lifts his hair a bit. He leans in to look at something.
"Just as I suspected: Alexander has implanted himself into your mind," He says.
James reaches back, grabbing his neck.
"How do you know that?" Grace asks.
Mr.Felleman turns to her, clasping his hands together.
"This symbol, that's what it means. I've seen it before, it's why James was able to kill him. Alexander wanted him to, so he could implant himself in his mind," He says.
I watch as he turns James so we can all see the back of his neck. There's a small marking there, like the ones we get when we kill other creatures. This one is a small curved line, it starts at the base of his head and goes down to the top of his back.
"So what, he's trying to take over James' body?" Lola asks.
Mr. Felleman shakes his head.
"No, he won't be able to do that. James is far too powerful. He will, however, be able to talk to you," He says, looking at James.
"But why? Why does he want to be inside of James' mind?" I ask.
Mr.Felleman shakes his head.
"I do not know. You'll have to ask him that yourself," With that, he turns around and walks back into the elevator, Ms. Naites follows him.
We watch as the elevator doors close, and they're gone.
"Did you see that? She didn't even ask about Lincoln," I say.
Lola looks down at the ground and doesn't say anything.
"Speaking of which, we now have two very big problems. We need to get back to Brooklyn, and we need to get Alexander out of James' head," Grace says.
