"I bet they did this on purpose," Daxia says.
I watch as she kicks random trash cans and walls, trying to get the door to the Headquarters to appear again. I look around, expecting the rest of the Leviathans that we didn't kill to come after us, but they haven't yet.
"Why would they lock us out of purpose? We're the only ones who can kill these things, which means we are the only ones who can protect them," I say.
I look around the old building, which usually has a magical door on the side. Now, it's just a regualr old building.
"That's exactly why they left us out here; we're the only ones who can kill these things," Daxia replies.
I watch as she stabs her sword into the side of the building, causing some of the bricks to crumple.
"Okay how about you stop that before you kill us all by dropping a building on us," I say.
"They didn't lock us out," I turn as Nicholas come around the corner of the alley.
"So then what happened?" I ask.
He hands a circular stone, I take it and look at it. It has a carving on it, the Archangel mark to be exact. I look at it, the two wings carved into the side of the stone as well.
"What is this?" I ask.
Daxia takes it from me and looks at it.
"It's a plaque. They're outside the entrances of every Headquarter. It can't be removed unless the Headquarters are moved, or don't exist anymore," He explains.
"So what does mean?" Daxia asks.
Nicholas takes the stone back, then looks at us both.
"It means, The Headquarters has either been destroyed along with everyone in there. Or, it was transported somewhere else," He explains.
"Why would someone transport it? Or destroy it?" I ask.
Nicholas shakes his head and shrugs.
"I'm not sure, but it had to have been someone on the inside," He replies.
"Okay, so who would have the power to transport The Headquarters?" Daxia asks.
"Any member of the council, or any Leuidine with a teleportation power that had access to the main control room," He says.
Daxia shakes her head and reaches up to tie her hair back.
"None of us had that power," She says.
"Daxia, there's also the option that it was destroyed," Nicholas says.
I watch as Daxia's hands form into fists. She shakes her head aggressively, but she doesn't say anything.
"Let's just say that it was transported somewhere. How do we find out where it is?" I ask Nicholas.
Nicholas runs a hand through his hair and then adjusts the leather belt around his waist.
"I have no idea, only an Archangel or a Guardian Angel would know that," Nicholas replies.
I look around the empty alley and then I spot someone.
"Hey, look," I say, pointing to the street.
Nicholas walks over and peers out into the street. There's a woman walking down the street with a toddler in a stroller. I look down the other side of the street and see a couple walking down the street hand in hand.
