Time Heals
Loren smiled thinking of AJ's endeavor
To keep her safe said with such fervor
She knew she'd have to be more clever
If her relationship with brother
she chose to sever
If only he would understand
She was meant for something
far more grand
U.B. checked her ankle.
"Can you stand?"
Loren tried
But all hoped died
And soon as she added weight
She stumbled.
"Just great!"
"All things heal with time,"
Dr. Well encouraged.
"So they say,"
Loren said discouraged.
"I may have just the thing."
He wrapped up her ankle
And handed her something.
"These will help you get around."
She put the crutches to the ground
She took a tentative step.
"You think they'll help?"
Loren smiled, "You bet!"
She went to the hotel
She grabbed her guitar
Time to get her life moving
Long over due by far
She got to the Saloon
Walked up to the bar
And said to Crooked Smile
"Care if I sing awhile?"
Crooked Smile shrugged
The crowd was starting to grow
He guessed it couldn't hurt
To give them a show
He waved to the stage
Loren felt the thrill
Of something about to happen

She took the steps gingerly
Pulled up a stool
And poured out her heart
