Thoughts and a Decision
CG stared at her desk
feelin' extremely mad
But more than that
she felt extremely sad.
Like a common criminal
handcuffed and booked
she didn't break the law
that cut and dry fact was over looked.
Not one had bothered
To ask her
passed the judgment
house arrest all did concur.
She left the exemption notice
disgusted and appalled
along with her guns
Not carin' about the brawl.
Not once but twice and thrice
always lack of trust
the present is ungrateful as the past
unfair and unjust.
CG shook her head
refusin' to think of the past
Where are my friends?
they've all disappeared so fast.
She thought of the sheriff
once he'd called her friend
would he had done the same?
or would he her defend?
The Marshall had guessed
he was partially right
that the sheriff was missin'
he rode off at the speed of light.
The preacher's words
echoed in her ears
'The sheriff had come by and left'
that multiplied her fears.
"Heck, what is goin' on
that road leads out of town
what more trouble can I get in?
I'll gitty-up poke my nose around."
