Unexpected
What Loren said was pretty unclear,
The words she said, he failed to hear.
"What was that Loren?" AJ asked again.
"I heard the word "love" used in the sentence."
Loren suddenly became fidgety,
Something he said made her uneasy.
"I love... brownies!" she was quick to respond,
"And I'll get them later, after my song."
"Oh, the brownies...." AJ said,
Her answer left him a bit disappointed.
Loren felt it, the reaction wasn't missed,
So she quickly gave the guy an unexpected kiss.
"Sorry AJ, I really have to go.
Back at the saloon, they wait for my song.
How about we get some noodles next time?"
Loren asked with a nervous smile.
AJ held the cheek where he was kissed,
He brightly smiled, he was in bliss.
He nodded his head, of course he said yes,
The noodles for Loren, the best in the west.
Loren giggled as she turned to go,
But AJ stopped her to wipe her nose.
"You had some flour, but its gone now,
Now, go back in there Loren, and wow the crowd."
