Gone

Ruechari did not know what to do

She was torn between the two

The Kit Kat's raised her it's true

But her heart belonged to someone who

Looked at her with pleading eyes of blue

She knew of the betrothal of which

ThingaMajig spoke

The seriousness of the situation

was no joke

It was her duty to unite the tribes

With their neighbors nearby

To bind herself and create a foundation

To join both tribes by marrying into

The Toffee Nation

But no matter how hard she tried

Ruechari could not see

Herself married to a man

named Jujube

She met him once when they were kids

He pulled her hair as they ran amid

The fields of maze

They were much simpler days

Her tribe are nomads

During the winter

Barely food was to be had

Because the Toffee Nation farms

They kept her tribe from harm

Still there were those pleading eyes of blue

Who could say no more then, "Rue?"

She did not know what to say

Her impulse was to run away

She laid a hand on his chest

"I need some time to rest."

Both men stood down and let her go

What she'd decide neither did know

Sue said they could stay the night

Bubba insisted, "After all, it's what's right."

Sue took Ruechari by the hand

"Your road just got a whole lot harder, I understand.

Just remember whose love pulled you through

Let that answer guide you."

Ruechari smiled and said, "Thank you, Sue."

But knew

she was saved not by one

but two.

The minute she was alone

She took out some paper and wrote

An answer for both men

And left them each a note

She then opened the window high

Took a breath and closed her eyes

Shook off this form with a sigh

And soared out into the sky.

There was a soft knock on her door

"I know you said you wished to rest

But I have something I must confess."

When she didn't answer

Billy figured she slept

And walked away feeling inept.

Later was a second knock

The door, it was unlocked

He opened it wide

To see it empty inside

Chief ThingaMajig shook his head

He saw the notes on the bed

He did not care for what he read

Well it would seem it was time to ride

If he could not bring Jujube his bride

Then he just go collect the groom

He decided as he left the room

He came down the steps.

"What is it? What's wrong?"

Billy asked seeing his face.

"She's gone!"

The Chief took his leave

Billy rushed to her room

He just had to see

The room it was...

Empty.

He sat down on the bed

Put his hands in his head

She left without a word

He thought she loved him

Guess that's absurd.

He shook it off.

Thanked the Bigbees

Nothing left for him here

It was back to BG.
