"Where are the flowers? I ordered them weeks ago!" Sophia ran around the Hamilteam mansion impatiently, her feet stomping on the floor. It was hard to concentrate.

"Sophia, they must be running a little bit late. I really think you should sit down." I said, trying to read my book.

"Anji, you don't understand, the flower delivery people promised they'd be here by tomorrow!"

"So why are you so stressed now?"

"Everyone knows salespeople exaggerate their dates, making them longer. That way when the product comes in the mail early, the customer will think the company had really good timing and will go there again!"

"That actually made sense." I marveled. "Maybe they're stuck in traffic. Just breath-"

"I can't breathe! Mary and Alice told me they ran out of frosting for the cake! We neeeed a cake at the wedding!"

I grabbed her shoulders. "Sofa- Sofa!"

She looked at me.

"Everything is going to be fine. Okay?"

"But what if-"

"Sof, we could go with what ifs all day long. But what if today is better than what you've ever pictured?"

She looked down. "I guess you're right."

I nodded. "You have a right to be nervous, you're going to share your life with someone now. But you don't have to panic, okay?"

She hugged me. "I love you."

I hugged her back. "I love you too."

She left to check on the cake. As soon as she left the room, I turned around. There was Elijah, standing in the doorway.

While Sophia was my best friend, Elijah was my boyfriend. We'll get to the introductions in a minute.

"That was smooth." He smiled.

"Oh good, that was believable!" I sighed. "I'm no less nervous than she is!"

"Why?" He asked, walking towards me.

"This is my best friends wedding. It had to be perfect. I'm her second in command, her second opinion with all of the decorations and the dresses and the food. If something goes wrong, I'm going to feel like I haven't done my job."

"Anji, don't take the blame if something goes wrong. We're all helping each other here." Elijah told me.

I smiled. "You're right. There I go, worrying too much about the little things again."

Elijah chuckled. "Come on, checkers can't play itself!"
