"Our ways of communicating with our friends aren't working because of this damned cage!" Mary shrieked and hit her hands against the bars.

A shriek was heard from Micheal's direction, and Mary winced. She hadn't felt this worried in a long time.

"Magic won't work." Mary's breathing grew rapid. "What will?"

Sherlock suddenly stood up and looked out of the cage at one singular spot for one straight minute.

"Logic and reason." He finally muttered.

"What?"

"Logic. And reason. That's how we'll get out of here."

Mary stood up. "Brilliant! What do you think?"

"While Micheal is smart along the lines of magic and power, he is rather idiotic when it comes to logic and reason, from what I've gathered. For example, he mentioned Lydia's life after I escaped his trap instead of using her to win over your decision-"

"He still wouldn't have won."

"He also likes the sound of his own voice. If I were a villain, I'd deduct quietly and never share my plans."

"So how do we escape?"

"See this lock? It has three other locks on it, meaning the codes won't be too difficult, Micheal must have thought the amount of locks would be overwhelming for us as it is."

"He clearly doesn't know us as well as we thought."

Sherlock muttered to himself as he poked and prodded the heavy metal locks. Mary learned to stay quiet when Sherlock was deducting something unless he wanted her to speak, or if there was a life or death situation.

After a few pokes and grunts, the first lock opened with a click.

Mary cheered as Sherlock opened the other two and jumped out of the cage.

"That's my detective." She leaned in for a kiss. As they broke apart, Mary's eyes widened. "Our friends!"

Warming up her powers, they ran down the hall to the sound of the screams.
