I landed near Sophia and Gabe, sprawled on my back. My wings were bent the wrong way, and the cracking noise I heard could not have been healthy, but I had no time to reach for my healing glitter at the moment, because Micheal was running towards me.

"Give me the blade." He hissed, nearing my face. His breath had an unnatural minty smell.

"I don't-"

Suddenly, a motion caught the corner of my eye. Mary was holding the blade, and was aggressively shaking her head. Something passed between us and I understood.

"I don't want to." I inched backwards.

"You fool!" He bellowed. "Can you not see there is no hope? Look at her!" He pointed at Sophia. "She's practically dead!"

I did look. She did look majorly wounded, and weak. I felt my heart sink. What if she was...

Anji, I'm alive. Stay strong.

I released a tiny gasp. She had used the empathy link- she was alive! We had to save her before she wasn't.

"She isn't dead." I said defiantly.

"How can you say that? Don't you know what a hopeless case looks like?!" Micheal screeched.

"No." I said as I stood up. "I don't."

Micheal stared at me.

"Because there's no such thing!"

Mary, seizing the opportunity, raised the blade and stabbed Micheal in the back. She has snuck up behind him while he was distracted.

Micheal's jaw dropped, and his eyes widened to the size of saucers. Small beams of light emitted from his back, which grew larger by the second. He screamed and fell to the floor until the light overtook his entire body.

"I'LL GET YOU, BROTHER, AND THIS RIDICULOUS CLUSTER OF WANNABE SUPERHEROES." Were his last words. A large flash of light, much like the sun, hit our eyes. Then he was gone.

Mary and I stood, panting, staring at where he had just been. Chloe and Harry slowly walked over to us. Then, we all ran in separate directions.

I ran to Sophia with Chloe and Harry. Mary went over to Elijah, picked him up, and set him down next to Sophia. Lucas ran after them.

As Harry checked Sophia'a pulse, Chloe removed the cloth from Gabe's mouth and the rope from his arms and legs.

I passed around the healing glitter and looked at Lucas. "And?"

"He's alive, but he isn't waking up. I could shock him, but that might make things worse."

"Is it all we've got?" Mary asked.

Lucas nodded.

I held my breath. "Do it."

"Are you sure?"

I nodded. Elijah was powerful, he'd be okay.

Lucas raised his hands, and a bright blue beam of light hit Elijah square in the chest. In a coughing fit, he woke up.

We all sighed of relief as we told him what happened.

"Are you okay?" He asked us all.

I gave him the healing glitter. "We'll be alright. What did Micheal do to you?"

"Some sort of weird spell, I could feel myself losing consciousness slowly. If I tried to open my eyes, it hurt. I was on the edge of death before I woke up."

I ignored my increased heart rate. "Lucas saved your life, then." I squeezed his hand.

Elijah looked at Lucas gratefully. "Thank you."

We all turned towards Sophia after that. I walked over to her and sat down near her head.

"She used the link when Micheal was nearing me." I informed the gang. "I know she's alive."

Chloe, who had said nothing up until this point, said "I could use my runes, they're powerful enough to save her."

"You tried to kill her." I scowled.

"The Nine Realms got to my head. It hasn't been the first time this has happened and it won't be the last, but let me redeem myself and save her." Chloe's voice was steady and constant, like a strong river on a sunny day.

"I think we should give Chlow a second chance." Harry spoke up.

"Of course you do." I muttered.

"I agree, she's one of us." Mary spoke up.

"She's telling the truth, she isn't fidgeting or avoiding anybody's eyes." Sherlock deducted.

"If Sherlock says it's true, it must be." Lucas agreed.

Gabe nodded, and Elijah sighed, agreeing reluctantly.

"Guys, she literally just tried to kill Sophia." I argued. "Not to mention RUIN ALL OF US."

"Come on Anji, just one more chance!" Chloe begged. It was obvious her confidence had increased now that the majority of the Hamilteam was on her side.

I groaned. "Fine, but I'm never trusting you completely again."

Chloe smiled. "You probably shouldn't have in the first place." She moved over to Sophia and cut some of her runes in half.

"That should do the trick."

We all held our breath in anticipation. Suddenly, her eyes fluttered open and she slowly raised her head.

"Gabe? Anji? Chloe? What's- Micheal!" She bolted upwards, wincing and grabbing her chest.

"Easy there." Gabe wrapped an arms around her as I put some healing glitter near her ribs.

"You're alright." I sighed. I knew she would be.

Sophia smiled. Finally, I couldn't wait any longer. I jumped on her and hugged her tightly, steadying my shaking hands.

Mary beamed. "Our Sofa is back!"
