Chapter 38: Letter to Carter
Carter's POV
Scarlet carefully and gently opened her eyes. As we all looked at her I notice she was looking around the room before she spoke her first words. Then she said "Stefan.....Carter.....where is Connor?"
My heart stopped for many reasons. My mate didn't know her husband died and Stefan or myself were going to tell her Connor was dead. He risked his own life for her. Why though? I still didn't know why?
"Scarlet....you should take a nap...." Stefan says
"Is Connor outside?" She asked
"Why are you askng about him?" I asked
"I just....feel like the other half of me is gone. Like his presense is gone. I need to see him. He makes everything better." Scarlet answers
Stefan looks at me and I sigh. This was going to be hard. How do you tell someone your husband killed himself to save you. How do you tell someone that when they just wake up from coma? You can't say that to a person. You just can't.
"Scarlet....I need to tell........" I was cut off by Stefan
"No I have to tell her. She deserves to know from me." I said
"What is going on?" Scarlet asked getting herself to sit up
"It's Connor." Stefan says
"Yeah what about him?" Scarlet says
"Scarlet......I don't know how to tell you this.... I really don't." Stefan starts to say
"Is Connor alright?" Scarlet says
"You can say that." I said
"Connor is dead." Stefan says
The whole room was quiet. I looked at Scarlet she has no emotion on her face then all of the sudden she says "Don't be stupid Stefan. Connor isn't dead. If this is some type of joke it isn't funny."
"Scarlet, it's not a joke." Stefan says
"He is dead. He killed himself for you." I said
"No....No....Connor is not dead." She says more to herself
All of the sudden the door opens saying "Stefan..." but stopped when the lady who was Connor's mom says "Scarlet honey your awake."
Scarlet just nods as the women hugs her and Scarlet says "Valerie, please tell me Connor is alive. Please. He promised me he wouldn't leave me." in a soft whisper
"Scarlet honey, you know I love you and so does the whole family but....I am so sorry....Connor is dead." The lady says
"No....He promised. You all are lying. He can't be dead." Scarlet says shedding some tears
All of the sudden Connor's dad comes in and says "You told her." Stefan, and Connor's mom nodded while Connor's dad glared at me......
"Scarlet, please....don't cry." I said holding her hand
"DON'T TOUCH ME!!" She yells
I jumped back. As she yelled that her voice was stronger. Like an Alpha. When your the mate of an Alpha the female inherits the traits of an Alpha. Like the voice, strength, and some special powers. Scarlet must inherit Connor's strong voice since she yelled at me like an Alpha.
