Chapter 41: Invitation

Scarlet's POV

ONE YEAR LATER!!

                I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off on me. Getting up I stretch. Walking over to the shower I turn on the hot water and let it hit my body. Steam came out...Hot showers were always relaxing to me. Getting out of the showers I get dress and change...

                     Walking out and going downstairs I find Liam just comin in. Ever since the move to Ohio, Liam has been there for the kids and myself. Right now I am the Alpha of the pack. At first it was nerve wracking but I gotten used to it all.

           Liam been an wonderful teacher showing my responsibilities. The kids love it here in Ohio. Plus Isabella loves being treated as leader. All the kids look up to her and sometimes I think it gets to her head but I just laugh and roll my eyes when Isabella goes on and on about kids following her around. 

   Tristan on the other hand has learned to be tougher. Liam is showing Tristan to speak up and learn to defend himself. I say it was an bad idea at first but Tristan feels more confident then the shy child now. I know Connor would be so proud of both of them. 

          Till this day I never seen Connor. I honestly think I lost it that day or that he cross over. I never told anyone about him, but deep inside knows I won't see him again. I never forget Connor....you can't though. You never forget your first love........ 

     Then we have C.J he is going to be one in three months and like Liam predicted he is growing fast for his age.  I see Connor alot in C.J he is his mini him. 

         Today were the twins brithday.... they were 7 today. The kids couldn't stop talking about the party we were having tomorrow. They were inviting friends and couldn't wait for family to come....

          "They are seven today."  Liam says 

"I know.... I am so getting old." I joked

"Your young. Not that young but not that old. Your in the middle." Liam says 

"Wow....thank you." I said sarcastically 

                    "So about the party.........." Liam says 

"Yes Liam?" I said 

    "You inviting him?" Liam asked

  I smile at the question. Knowing who he was refering to. Carter. His name till this day makes me smile.... I get butterflies in my stomach when he is mention. One year and I haven't seen him but to me it feels like yesterday we were in my old living room and he was saying goodbye. 

         It killed me to leave him. Like I lost the two most important men in my life taken away from me in the same week. I lost Connor and I didn't want to lose Carter, but I just needed my space. My space to focus on the kids and get them settle not me finding love. 

            I miss Carter alot. I wander if he moved on. I bet he did. Why wait when you can have any girl? The thought of him with another girl made me mad. Then I think I am being selfish and not putting him first. So my feelings are mixed. 

           "Yeah I sent the invitation. I hope he can come." I said 

"You ready to make the next step?" Liam says 

            I nodded and said "One year since the death.......I can't mourn after him my whole life. Connor would have wanted me happy not miserable. If Carter brings me happiness then he would have supported it."
