Chapter 42: Party
Scarlet's POV
It was the twin's birthday and party. To say they were happy was the understatment of the year. Liam was ordering the boys around on where to put things...He didn't need to ask for my opinion he just knew what to do. The kids were with Stefan....
"Do you think he will show?" Liam asked
"I don't know....maybe.... Who knows.." I said
"I say you look beautiful... Trying to seduce the man at your own kids party." Liam winks at me
I laughed and said "This is how I dress. Plus seduce a man? Seriously....."
Liam laughs and me and goes on about the party. While he was talking all of the sudden I saw.......Connor. I looked at him but pretend to pay attention to Liam... I haven't seen him in years and my eyes can't keep them off him.
"Meet me deep inside the woods." Connor says then disappears
"Hey I am going to go get some fresh air before everyone comes. I'll see you in a couple of minutes." I said
"Okay...see you in a bit." Liam says waving as I get outside
While walking outside I walked deep inside the woods. While walking in my heart was accelerating the thought of seeing Connor. I thought he was gone..., but he isn't gone. He is still here...not alive but still here.
"Hey." Connor says leaning against a tree
"Hey...how you been?" I asked
"Good... You look beautiful." Connor says smiling
"Thank you. So I thought you said you weren't going to see me anymore?" I asked
"Well yes but I wanted to say goodbye. You deserve a goodbye. I never did say a goodbye. I told the kids a goodbye but never you." Connor says
"Yeah the kids told me that. Today is their birthday party." I answered
"I know.....How are they doing?" Connor asked
"They are doing good. Tristan isn't shy anymore. Liam is helping him become more of a man. Isabella is taking the leadership to her head. She likes the attention.. Then little C.J well he is doing fine but he looks alot like his father." I said
"So good looking?" Connor says in a joking tone
"Yes Connor... I miss you alot." I said
"I miss you too, but today I feel like it's my destiny to let go of you and stop holding you back." He says
"If its your destiny then it is." I said
"You grown up." Connor says
"I had too. I can't mourn over you my whole life. I know you would have wanted me to move on someday." I said
Connor smiles and says "I love you alot."
"I love you too Connor." I said
Connor walks toward me and hugs me. Instead of falling or hugging the air. I feel him. Like he is there. I hugged him back and tears come down. I wanted to cherrish this moment so we both stayed quiet.
"How are you hugging me?" I asked
"The elders from the other side are giving me the power to. It is my last time. Plus they think I should say my last goodbye like I was here. " He explains then wipes a tear from my cheek
