"I am having a bonfire tonight with some friends, you are welcome to come if you want." Lucas offered me with a smile.
"I would," I said "But I don't really know anyone in town yet, and I don't want to be a third wheel or anything."
"Don't worry; I will introduce you to all my friends. C'mon, it will be a lot of fun." he said with a hopeful look in his eyes. I didn't know how to say no. He told me to just walk over around five and that everything would be fine. He had to go home to get ready so i just layed down on my bed and chilled. I think i was starting to like this new town. I got ready trying to look good because i didn't want to look like a total freak. At five i looked out the window and saw some people were walking into Lucas's backyard. I called to my parents that i would be back later and I went outside to Lucas's. When i got there everyone just kind of stared at me.
"Hey everyone, this is Emily. She is my new neighbour." Lucas said to everyone there. I started talking to two girls named Megan and Lauren. Megan was a freshman like me and Lauren was a junior. I talked to a few other guys that were friends with Lucas. Their names were Nick, Ryan, and John. They were all juniors and on the baseball team with Lucas.
"Hey, Do y'all wanna play release?" one guy there asked. We had nothing better to do so we started picking teams. I was on Lucas's team.
