Bal: two different worlds

*ben ran straight in and was sent straight to Mal's room where he found her crying her eyes out, his heart stopped, he could only pray it didn't mean what it felt like it meant*
Ben: baby?
*Mal looked up while trying to stop crying, she sniffles as she looks at him sadly*
Ben: d...did I miss something?
*mal shakes her head gently and he breathes a sigh of relief, but then the fact she was crying her eyes out renters his mind*
Ben: what's wrong baby?
Mal: it all hurts and it feels wrong
Ben: it's okay, it'll be over soon
Mal: no, you don't get it, it hurts all the time, it's not supposed to do that and it's not just where it's supposed to hurt, my whole body hurts and they just keep whispering to each other, they won't tell me anything Ben
Ben: okay, just take deep breaths and try and stay as calm as you can, I promise everyone is doing everything they can
Mal: it just keeps getting worse!
*she squeezes his hand tightly as another contraction comes on, combined with the pain she's already in she has to try so hard not to scream*
Ben: babe just breathe for me
*mid way through the contraction the doctor walks in, a worried look upon her face*
Ben: what the hell is going on? Why is she in so much pain, that's surely not normal
Doctor: no it isn't
Ben: THEN WHY?!
Doctor: your highness calm down, you're making matters worse by getting all worked up
Mal: Ben!
Ben: shhh sweetie calm down
Mal: I can't! Everything hurts!
Ben: what's going on?
Doctor: I wish I could tell you, we don't know
Ben: we'll find out!
Mal: Ben, please don't
Ben: okay, I'm sorry
Mal: please make it stop
*the pain in her eyes and her voice broke his heart, she was trying so hard to be brace and he knew it but inside the thought of what might be happening right now was breaking her, she had nothing left to give and he could see it in her eyes*
Ben: I wish I could baby, I'd do anything to make this stop for you, but I can't, you're doing great sweetie
Mal: I can't do this
Ben: I know you Mal, you're the strongest person I've ever met in my entire life, you can do anything, you can do this baby, I know you can
Doctor: your highness, can I speak to you outside for a moment please?
Mal: ben?
Ben: okay, Mal baby I'll be back in just a moment, I promise I'll be quick
*she nodded, trying her hardest to just be brave for him, he and the doctor left the room*
Ben: what the hell us happening doc?
Doctor: we honestly aren't sure why she's in so much pain, we know the twins are beginning to struggle to cope so that's draining her but we can't figure out what's causing he pain
Ben: how?!
Doctor: like I've been saying for the entirety of this pregnancy, what auradon's doctors know about this situation is very limited because it's so uncommon and to be honest, of the few cases we have had he ability to look at to try and understand this, they're all so completely different that it's basically impossible to find a pattern
Ben: there's nothing you can be sure of?
Doctor: Ben honestly, in pretty every case I've had the ability to look over, they haven't gotten this far with both twins and their mother all even close to happy and healthy, it seems to be a miracle we are where we are
Ben: you're going to do everything you can to make sure they all come out of this okay aren't you?
Doctor: of course, everyone is going to do everything they can to ensure this goes as well as possible
Ben: I'm surprised none of this has been leaked yet
Doctor: I promised you both the utmost secrecy and I meant it
Ben: I know, thank you
Doctor: you need to be prepared your highness, I can't promise anything
Ben: I know you can't, but at least everything possible is being done
Doctor: you should get back to her, I'll be back very soon, until then, just keep her as calm as possible
Ben: I'll try my best
