*Evie stood outside nervously, holding her best friends son while his father attempted to get the answers they desperately needed*
Ben: how is she?
Doctor: we finally got her stabilised
Ben: what the hell happened?
Doctor: we have no idea, everything just went haywire, we know it was too much stress for her system to cope with so she just shut down but we can't figure out why
Ben: is she gonna be okay?
Doctor: honestly? We don't know what's gonna happen because we can't figure out what's happening
Ben: is she awake?
Doctor: no, we don't know when she will wake up
Ben: will she wake up?
Doctor: ......I don't know
*Ben tries to process what he's being told as his mind comes back to something else*
Ben: what about Bella?
Doctor: she had a rough night but she's been better this morning
Ben: okay
Doctor: she's getting there
Ben: can I see her?
Doctor: you can see both of them-
Ben: can I take Bella in?
Doctor: not at the moment, she's not quite there at the moment, but she could use the time with you
Ben: when we can she leave?
Doctor: hopefully about a week
Ben: thank you
Doctor: we'll keep you informed if anything changes
*Ben rejoins Evie outside, immediately taking Mason back from her*
Evie: so?
Ben: she's stable but that's all they know, they don't know what happened or what's gonna happen, just that she's stable
Evie: you're gonna go see her right?
Ben: I have to be with Bella, I can't leave her all alone there, I don't know what to do Evie, it's so back and forth, Bella can't be released for like a week, they have no idea what's happening with Mal, it was all supposed to get better once the twins were here but it's all just falling apart
Evie: I'm sorry
Ben: I just don't understand why all this is happening, she changed Evie, slowly to start with, it didn't matter, I loved her no matter what, but she became someone else, for such a long time she'd become so withdrawn and dependant upon others, you know Mal, that's not who she really is, at least it's not who she was when she first came here, it's not who she was when we fell in love, she finally got that fire back Evie, she had that fire in her eyes, you know, like she used to when she got mad, I haven't seen it in so long, not properly anyway, if she ever did it then it was usually forced, but this time, it was there, she was angry, it was the first time I'd seen her show passion that wasn't sadness or fear, she wasn't showing weakness, she was showing strength, and it tore her apart, I want the strong and independent Mal back, I loved the fire and the spunk, but what if this just happens again? I want to protect her Evie, but I can't protect her from herself
Evie: no one can, no one ever could, she's Mal, she does what she wants, how she wants it, she takes no prisoners, she doesn't do being protected
Ben: she does at the moment, or she did, I'm not sure to be honest, but she's not been herself for a while and when she finally seem to be re-finding herself and then this happens
Evie: why don't you see if Bella is awake and if not sit with Mal for a while until she is then you can go and be with Bella
Ben: and if she is awake?
Evie: then do the opposite, be with Bella until she falls asleep then sit with Mal for a while
Ben: that's a good idea
Evie: do you mind if I go see her?
Ben: of course not, she's yours as much as she is mine, I may be married to her but you're the closest friend she has and the nearest thing to a sister
Evie: thanks, I'll see you later
Ben: yeah

I can't not say something about what happened in Manchester yesterday night, it's horrific and terrible, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this including the dead and the injured as well as the missing and Ariana herself, I hope yours are as well, this country needs them tonight, Manchester needs them tonight xoxo 💔💔
