Act 19

~Akashi~

Feeling the sore and pain on his body, Akashi did his best to open his eyes. He roamed his eyes around and felt the cold wind touching his bare skin, and the hard wood on his back. He sat down and noticed the wounds around his body, especially in his arms. However they were covered with leaves and they were already well tended. He groaned from the pain he felt on his back, and he knew well that his back was swollen

"Where am I?" He asked himself

At that moment, he shifted his head towards the door and was surprised to see a child whose half of her face was covered with her messy black hair. Her dull grey right eye looked at Akashi and blinked twice, holding a water bucket on her hands

"Ah!" The kid shouted then jumped up and down, spilling the water on the bucket "baa-san, baa-san!" She shouted "the guy with red hair is awake! The guy with red hair is awake!"

"Hai, hai, the water is spilling, so stop jumping." Akashi heard an old woman's voice and not long after, an old woman holding a bucket of water entered the room, smiling towards Akashi

"See, he is awake!" The child again pointed at Akashi

"I apologize for the loud voice of my granddaughter" the old woman apologized "you shouldn't move that much yet" the woman put down the water near Akashi then touched his forehead and a gentle smile was shown on her face "You have no more fever. You recover fast too. Your wounds closed and dried fast too. But your body is still swollen, especially your back"

"..." Akashi tried to understand his situation when he remembered the woman with her, and her presence couldn't be seen nowhere inside the room "Shirayuki! Where is Shirayuki?! Agh..!" He raised his voice and tried to stand up when he felt unsteady.

"Don't move yet, young kid. You bumped into lots of hard things so your body is swollen. You got scratched too, and probably from the branch of trees." the old woman stopped him "if you are talking about the young lady with your, she is in another room, recovering. Since she is in critical condition, she needed to receive a different treatment."

"Different treatment? Obaa-san, where is this place?" Akashi curiously asked as he onxe again roamed his eyes around. It was clearly a small house made with woods. "The sun is already up..." he mumbled

"Oh yeah, I should introduce myself to you" the old woman told him to lie down but Akashi shook his head, telling her that he is fine "I am Fukuchou Kikukiri, the one a while ago is my five year old granddaughter Chiyo. She was the one who found you. You and the young lady with you, the two of you you were floating behind our house"

"Behind your house? Obaa-san, we were washed away by the rushing river" Akashi told the old woman that made her eyes wide open

"Rushing river? There's one connected behind our house, but its quite far from here" The old woman commented "its no wonder why you two got those wounds, but its a miracle that you two survive. Well, well, we can have a chat later"

"No, please, tell me more about this place. Also, I need to see Shirayuki"

"Young kid, the lady in the other room is still unconscious and also I only let her wear her undergarments. Even-"

"Its fine, I already saw her in her swimsuit, so there's no difference. Also, I alreadt her wearing just a towel wrapped around her body, I saw it twice" he answered and did his best to stand up

The old woman handed him a simple grey yukata and sighed "I understand. It seems like I can't stop you now. Wait me here. I'll put some clothes on her and then you can go and look after her. But make sure to don't push yourself too much. You also need to build up your strength"
