Act 64

"Do you know how serious is it, for not returning here last night?" Helena asked in disbelief

As they arrived back to their hotel in France, Shirayuki and Akashi were called to the board room to talk about their whereabouts the night before. The two were standing in front of the teachers from different country, including theirs. Shirayuki though could feel the sharp eyes from the teachers of the students who were involved last time, especially the French teacher

"You know that you can lose your chance to participate next year, as well as you will lose your chance to study in Oxford or in Harvard" Helen added then looked at the two of them "do you have anything to say?"

"Professor Helena, why bother? They broke the rules" the French teacher asked "we should remove them on the list"

"It's complicated though, since these two got the highest scores" Helena informed them and again turned to the two of them "well?"

"We have three things to say." Akashi started "first, I think you have forgotten that I don't need the scholarship here. I am already accepted in Harvard since I am in first year. In fact, I will start my pre-study this coming April. Second,  Shirayuki here has no interest of studying outside Japan since she wanted to stay close to her family."

"Third, and last, the reason why the flights changed was surely because of me." Shirayuki followed

"Huh?" They all asked at the same time that they didn't get what they meant especially what Shirayuki said

"We don't mind if you give the scholarship to other students, just make sure to choose the appropriate students. For Me and Shirayuki, it's more than enough to represent our country" Akashi explained then turned to Shirayuki

"I believed that Alfred Harris contacted you yesterday, right? To say that the flights of the students who supposed to leave this morning until afternoon were changed"

"Yes, what's with that?" Helena questioned back

"Indeed we were in England, and we had our tickets already to return here before the closing ceremony. But in order for me to be able to attend the supper with my grandparents, my uncle changed the flights, and also requested to do the closing ceremony today instead."

"Shirayuki, we don't get-"

"Alfred Harris is my uncle. He was also surprised that I am part of this assembly, if he knew, he wouldn't sponsor this year."

"What are you saying?" One of the teachers asked "You are from Japan"

"I was born in England. My mother is Uncle Alfred's sister. My whole name is Shirayuki Harris-Meijin."

"You are making this us, to get away from the punishment" the French teacher mumbled, agreed by some of the teachers

"Professor Helena, you can call my uncle and verify from him. We told him yesterday that we would be in trouble for not returning, but he insisted. Oh, please call him on his work phone"

Helena did as what Shirayuki said and in order for everyone to hear, she turned on the loud speaker

"Hello, Alfred Harris' secretary speaking. How may I help you?"

"This is Helena Mcarthur, from the World's Academia Assembly. May I speak to Duke Alfred Harris?"

"Certainly. I believe that this is about Young Lady Shirayuki?" As the secretary asked her, they couldn't help but got nervous that she might indeed saying the truth
