I don't remember much of yesterday. Although I know ones this is for sure. I was on a sugar high. Now here's the thing about me, I can get drunk fairly easy and I can get sugar high fairly easy as well. So waking up on a hammock with Tony hugging me like a stuffed animal seemed completely normal to me.
Lifting my head a bit the sun was barely coming up. I can't believe I'm going to witness a sunrise! I told myself in my mind excitedly.
The sunrise was, indeed, beautiful. "Morning," tearing my gaze from the sunrise I found Kuzco's eyes open and staring at me. "You finished with your sugar high?"
"Yes," I said sitting up from the hammock. "How bad was I yesterday?" He sat up too.
"Not too bad," he said. "Just ran around the beach and getting all excited. I found it cute."
"Yeah? Well don't get any ideas Stark." He just chuckled a bit before placing his hand above mine.
"You now I love you right?" He asked.
"Yes. But do me a favor and don't say love."
"Why?"
"Book of Lies. Chapter 1. "I love you." Those three words can make someone's day or make it hell. That word lost its meaning and is used all around." He gazed at my before glancing at the beach.
"Then," Tony said. "I'll say this: If I were to spell out my favorite thing in the world, it'd be spelled 'Y-O-U'." I giggled a bit but also felt my ears reddened.
"That was cheesy," I said leaning my head on his left shoulder. "Ever for you Stark." Glancing up at him I could see him smile for a quick brief second before both our gazes were set on the beach.
It's times like these, like now, that I realize everything that's happened. It all started from the minute I got the boy's attention. The minute I openly rejected Tony. The minute I moved into the tower. Lots of things have happened, most of them might not have ever happened if I weren't friends with Pep.
We sat in silence. I had this feeling in the pit of my stomach, it told me something bad was going to happen, and I knew it was going to happen. I was ready.
From behind a tree branch snapped. At first I paid little attention to it, so did Tony, but when I heard the leaves ruffle and the pit in my something growing even more I knew that it was the bad thing.
Throwing myself and Tony to the floor a throwing knife shot out. My eyes were wide as well as Tony's as we both glanced back to find Kraven the Hunter stepping out of the forest.
"A good hunter will always find its prey," he said in that accent of his. "And a good hunter will always bring backup whenever needed." Crossbones, Bullseye, Taskmaster, Venom, and Doc Oc all came out of the bushes.
"Nice job Kraven," I knew that voice. "Glad you found Love for me." My heart was thumping so hard when I saw Leo. I could feel Tony grip my hand harder as my gaze never left Leo's.
"You-you were put in prison," I stuttered. "Shield prison. How-how could you escape?" He just smiled down at me.
"I have my ways Love. I knew the Avengers would be able to bring you back." Tony was up on his feet and had helped me up on my own as well.
"Already called the team," Tony spoke up. "They'll be here any minute."
"But they won't be here quick enough," said Leo as he stopped just a few feet from us. Not in arms length. "Just hand me Love and I won't let these villains kill you."
"No deal," I said immediately.
Leo tilted his head at me. "You want to fight?"
"If it means beating your ass then I'm ball." He chuckled a bit before stepping to the side.
