*Ruth's POV*
It had been a year and a half since Shawn had been in the accident. With the help of physical therapy, he recovered in about four months. He had to postpone part of his tour, but he still did the shows he missed once he was healed. There was a lot hate being thrown at me on social media during that time. People called me irresponsible, stupid, even a horrible girlfriend.... Which they were right in a sense. It made the guilt worse, I knew the accident was my fault. Shawn kept reassuring me that the hate would eventually stop, but I didn't believe it. I started locking myself un my room all day, only coming out to eat and go to the bathroom. Shawn started getting so sick of it, he made me go see a counselor. I know, I wasn't even the one who was physically hurt, and I had to go to get help. I was kind of a mess for a while. It definitely caused Shawn and I to have a rough couple of months, but everything slowly worked itself out, and we've moved on from it.
Shawn and I just moved in together a few weeks ago. We found an apartment in Ontario, and I'm attending grad school in the area. We found it while we were visiting Shawn's family for Christmas. We briefly talked about moving in together before that, then we finally decided it was time to take the next step.
"Did you find the pan babe?" I yelled from the living room couch, to the kitchen where Shawn was cooking.
"Yep, go it! What do you want in your eggs?" He asked.
"Everything please!"
"Got it, comin' right up!"
Every morning Shawn and I go to the gym together, then he makes us both breakfast afterwards. After that, I go to my classes during the day, while he works on his music. When I get back I usually make us dinner, and sometimes watch a movie on the couch. Now, we live as if we we're basically married. The thought of when he is going to propose, has been on my mind since we decided moved in. I couldn't believe that a little less than two years ago, I was just his fan. Now I'm moved in with him, and thinking about marriage. It's still mind-boggling.
"Here you go babe." Shawn said, handing me my plate while sitting next to me on the couch.
"Thanks hun." I said, shoving a fork full into my mouth.
"Hah, hungry much?" He chuckled.
"Don't judge, we just worked out." I said with a mouth full of food.
"I'm not." He said, grinning at me.
"So, any special plans for the day?" I asked him.
"Oh not much, maybe keep working on some music for my album."
"Yeah? What are you working on, can I hear it?"
"Yes of course honey. Let me go get my guitar."
Shawn grabbed his guitar from his room and plopped himself back onto the couch.
"I've been working on this one for a while now." He said while turning the pegs.
"Alright, here we go." He said. I could tell he was nervous, but I wasn't sure why.
You caught my heart in those,
Beautiful hands
I felt you pulling the strings and I,
I let myself go
You give me this feeling that I,
Need you somehow
Like your vital to my survival
So you hold to me tight
I don't know what I'd do without someone
