*Ruth's POV*
I couldn't believe I just got Shawn's number, this all felt so unreal. I think he might even like me. God I'm so glad that a decent guy finally might like me. All the boys who have liked me in the past have been so lame. They have only cared about my looks and the attention I give them. They could have cared less about my personality. I just really hope that Shawn doesn't just want to mess around, I want a serious guy, and I know that Shawn is capable of caring about me on a real and genuine level. He's a dream, honestly.

"We sang together while he played guitar and it was so much fun! He's just as genuine and sweet as I thought he'd be, he even asked me to hang out with him tomorrow!" I exclaimed to Leigh, while we drove home.
"Wow, that's crazy, I can't believe this is happening to you Ruth! He must really have a thing for you!" Leigh said.
"I know, I can't believe it's happening either! I had to pinch myself while walking out the exit just now!" I exclaimed.
"Haha Ruth you're such a dork! So what did you guys talk about?" Leigh asked.
"Well, we talked about how I became a musician, and he told me how he always wanted to meet a fan like me. Like a fan who is a musician like him. He also kept complimenting me. He said things like 'Your voice is stunning.' and 'You're so beautiful.' It was so sweet Leigh, I am literally on cloud nine right now."
"Aw, well I'm happy for you girl. I hope it works out!" Leigh said, excited for me.
"Yeah me too, I really hope that if this happens, that he is better than Michael was."
"Same girl. I'm sure he is, don't worry." Leigh said.
Michael was this kid I dated for three weeks back in high school, which I'm pretty sure he's gay now, and was probably gay when we dated. I don't have a problem with him being gay, he just only cared about the attention I gave him. He didn't really care about me. The part that sucked the most though was when I truly fell in love him months after we had broken up. All I wanted was for him to love me back, but he never did. Now it's fine, because it's been so long since it happened. We're still friends, and I still love him, just not like I used to.
After I dropped Leigh off at her house, I finally made it home. Before getting out of the car, I checked my phone, only to notice that Shawn had texted me. It read:
"Hey, it's Shawn. Hope you made it home safe."
I texted back: "I did, thank you. I hope you're having fun hangin in your hotel room :)" I replied back.
I went inside, kicked off my shoes, and went up to my parents room to tell them that I was home. I shook my Dad's arm to wake him.
"Hey missy, Did you have fun?" My Dad said with s groggy voice.
"Yeah, I did." I whispered. "Goodnight." I spoke, then went to get ready for bed. I'll tell them all the excitement when they aren't half asleep tomorrow.
After I had my pajamas on and was cleaned up, I checked the time on my phone again.
1:30 A.M the time read. "It's getting late, I need to get to bed." I said to myself. Usually Shawn's concerts get done around 10:00P.M, which is way earlier than a typical concert. Since I had hung out with Shawn afterwards, I got home much later than expected.... Wow, I couldn't believe I was saying that. I was still in shock that I got to hang out with one of the most genuine pop artists.*Phone buzzes*
"I would be having a lot more fun if you were here. I miss you already." Shawn replied.
"I miss you too, this might be too soon to ask but, would you want to hang out tomorrow?" I replied.
I sat and waited for a response for about thirty seconds, then I heard my phone buzz again.
"I would love that, would you want to come over around 1pm? I'm at the Hilton hotel in Rosemont."
I waited a couple minutes to respond, I didn't want to seem too desperate.....even though I actually was....woops.
A few minutes passed and I answered, "Sure! That sounds like a plan to me, I'll see you then! Nighty night! 😁"
My phone buzzed moments later. This boy must be eager. "Goodnight ❤" he replied.
I smiled at my screen, then put my phone on my bedside table and laid in bed. I drifted off to sleep, thinking about what Shawn and I could be.
