And I claimed I didn't care for you
But your verse got trapped inside my head
Over and over again
You played yourself to death in me

"Barbara."
Kara shook the hands of the other teacher who would be joining her with the convention. They met at the airport that day and would be picked up by a van once they are on their destination.
The woman is on her early forties and Kara was having a hard time enjoying since she's serious in nature and doesn't seem to be enjoying chitchats.
She remained quiet the whole time they were waiting at the airport while Barbara focused on reading some notes. When their flight was called, they headed to their plane and took their seats. She took her music player and conditioned herself to sleep. There is a long travel that awaits her.
When she opened her eyes, they were already at Japan, waiting for their connecting flight bound to Texas. It was another waiting time for them and when they finally got to their last destination, Kara already had enough sleep.
It was ten in the morning when they checked in at the hotel where they would be staying for two weeks. They shared the room between them and each has her own bed. Kara remained quiet since Barbara wasn't speaking that much either. If only she got someone younger, it would have been much easier. Some of the other teachers she met were also staying on the same place since it is the hotel nearest to the venue. As soon as she unpacked her items, she went out of the hotel to walk around the area and find a way to go to the building where they would have the convention. She was enjoying the view she was seeing.
She went back to the hotel past six in the evening and the two had dinner on one of the restaurants that she saw. Barbara refused to eat on a restaurant at first and wanted to still eat on the fast food chains that they know but Kara forced her to try something else since they already know what they serve.
Her room mate headed straight to the hotel while Kara decided to continue checking the places around the hotel and went back to their room past ten.
The following morning, they were both awake and ready for the convention. It would be starting by eight and since they would still have to register, they were already at the venue as early as seven. There weren't a lot of people yet that time and so they were able to get a good place to sit while at the convention. Thirty minutes later, people started coming in and the area was already half full. They met some new people and exactly at eight, the conference started.
The speaker was from London and they were mainly sharing the advancements when it comes to biochemistry and how it affects the society now compared to the past years. They would be showing the latest technologies invented that would further improve human life and the various fields in science. It sounded futuristic but it was already existing and are slowly being implemented on some countries who can sustain it.
It was very informative and past five in the evening, they were dismissed. The hotel was just of walking distance and so she would change her clothes and she would start checking on some nearby places. She bought a map she saw on a nearby newspaper stand and it guided her in her mini adventures.
She had dinner on different places that she can afford, kept pictures, and some small souvenirs. She would go home around nine or ten in the evening, clean herself, then go to bed. She would follow the same routine the following day.
Barbara remained staying on their room and would just sleep after every convention. She would invite her for a walk but she would decline. She grew tired of it so she rather let her be instead of still asking her out.
