A Killer Loves Me

Chapter Nine

(Abbi POV)

I wake up to the sound of my alarm blaring loudly. I groan but lean over and hit snooze.

About 10 minutes later I roll out of bed and get in the shower. Once I'm out, dressed, and ready 45 minutes later I go into the kitchen and eat a toaster stroodle.

I hear Pat honk his horn outside so I grab my stuff and rush out there. When I get in the car I lean over and give him a quick peck on the lips before he drives off.

"How'd you sleep?" He asks. "Not well. I couldn't stop thinking about Maggie." I tell him. "I'm sure she's fine. You shouldn't worry." He says calmly.

"How can I not! My bestfriends cousins disappeared and already 2 girls are dead!" I shout. "Ok I guess things are going kinda bad." He says.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have snapped on you. But I've just been really on edge lately." I say as I give him an apologetic smile.

We pull up to the school and Pat walks me to my locker. He gives me a kiss bye then heads on his way to class.

As I'm grabbing the books I need someone sneaks up behind me and pokes my side. I let out a small scream and put my hand over my chest. When I see Tod standing next to me laughing his butt off I hit him in the shoulder.

"You scared the crap out of me you idiot!" I say loudly. "I'm sorry Abbs but you have to admit your reaction was hilarious." He says as he tries to control his laughter.

"No it wasn't, and you know I hate when you call me Abbs." I say as I give him an evil stare. "Yeah I know but I think it's fun to make you mad." He says with a smirk.

"One day I swear I'm gonna kill you." I say giving him an evil glare as I walk away and into my 1st period classroom.

The day drags on as boring as usual, but I'm happy when lunch time finally comes around. I walk to the cafeteria and see everyone but Pat sitting in our regular spot.

I notice that Scarlett looks better than she did yesterday, but she still looks depressed.

"Where's Pat?" I ask as I sit down. "He left during second period." Jace tells me.

"Why is he always leaving things lately? It's really getting on my nerves. I feel like he's avoiding me or something." I say as I start to feel mad. "I'm sure he has a good reason for it." Meredith says.

"Yeah. His reasoning being that he's hiding something from me. I am really rethinking our relationship." I say. "What? Why?" Haley asks me.

"Because he avoids me, hides stuff from me, and I think he's cheating on me." I tell them. "Why would you think that?" Coby asks.

"Because why else would he always be sneaking off and always dissing me. I mean we haven't had sex in like 3 months and he's perfectly fine with it! But I definitely am not!" I say as I raise my voice.

"3 months?" Scarlett asks in disbelief. "Yes!" I say. "Maybe he is. Cause I've never met an 18 year old boy who is perfectly fine without having sex with his girlfriend for 3 months." Scarlett says. "Exactly! I think it might be over for us. I'm just tired of dealing with all of his crap." I say annoyed.

The rest of the lunch is spent in silence. When it's over I rush to my next class and take a seat in the back next to Tod.

"So, are you really gonna break up with Pat?" He asks me. "I don't know. But I'm seriously considering it." I tell him. "Oh ok." He says.

Our teacher Mr. Hatcher silences the class then starts his math lesson. I don't really pay attention because I already know how to do this stuff.

We've been going over it for a week but some people still don't get it, they make me wanna hit my head against my desk over and over again.

After he finishes he hands out a worksheet. I finish it in a couple of minutes, then just lay my head down for the rest of the class. When the bell rings I'm the first out of the class.

I trudge to my locker, then go to my next class. After what seems like minutes I'm walking out of the school heading for the parking lot, but then I remember that Pat isn't here, and all the girls have after school activities. So I rush over to Tod's car as he's about to leave and tap on his window.

"Can I get a ride? Pat's not here to take me home." I tell him. "Sure." He says. I rush over to the passenger door and hop in the car.

We spend the ride talking about random stuff. When we get to my house I go to leave the car but Tod catches wrist and stops me.

"Just remember I'm always here for you." He says as he stares me intently in the eyes. "I know." I say as I smile at him. "Good. Just don't forget it." He tells me. "Ok I won't. Bye." I say as I hop out of the car and run inside.
