A Killer Loves Me

Chapter Thirty-One

Why does the name Stevens sound really familiar to me. I feel like I've heard it recently but my mind can't connect any dots.

"Hi I'm Abbi. And you are?" I ask. "Very funny dear. You know very well who we are." The woman says.

"I do?" I ask. "We're Sh-" The man starts. "Abbi can you go get me a drink from the kitchen?" Mom asks cutting him off.

"But I wa-" I start. "Just do it Abbi." My mom says quickly.

I go into the kitchen and search the fridge for something to drink, but there isn't anything. "Mom! There's noting to drink in the fridge!" I yell to her. "Just get me some water! With ice please!" She yells back.

So I get a cup and go over to the fridge. I put a little ice in it, then full the rest with water. When I go back into the living room my mom doesn't see me, so she just keeps talking.

"You know I never said how sorry I was about Shane, and how he passed." My mom tells the Stevens.

That's when I finally figure it out, these are Shane's parents. The Shane that my mom supposedly never knew.

"Mom are these-" I start. "Oh Abbi you're back. Well the Stevens were just leaving." My mom says.

"We'll get in touch with you Kathryn. Seeing as we only live down the street now." The woman says, then they leave.

"Mom those are Shane Stevens parents! You said you never knew him! You lied to me!" I yell at her. "I was protecting you!" She yells back.

"From what?!" I ask. "Yourself." She says. "Myself? What could I have possibly done that involved Shane? And why can't I remember anything from my past?" I ask.

"It's a long story." She says as she sits down. "Well I have plenty of time." I tell her as I sit next to her.

"Ok. We moved to Florida when you were 9. There you met Shane. When you guys were ten you started dating, I thought nothing of it since you were younger. But you guys ended up dating for 3 years, until you were 13. When you found out we were moving you knew that you had to break up with Shane. So when you did he was devastated. He killed himself a week before we left. When you found out you were upset, so you went to you're dads while we finished packing. But on your way back a drunk driver hit the car. He hit the driver side killing your dad, and you hit your head causing you to lose your memory from when you were 9 till then. I made up a fake memory so that you wouldn't have to relive your past." She says as she puts her head in her hands crying.

"How could you do this to me?! My whole life is a lie!" I yell at her. "I did it because I wanted you to be happy! I didn't want you to have to know about what you caused Shane to do!" She yells back.

"I don't care what you wanted! What about me?! What about what I want! I can't even be around you right now, I actually wanna talk to the Stevens. So I'm gonna go find them." I tell her as I head towards the door.

"No Abbi you can't!" She yells. "Yes. I can." I say as I walk out the door.

I see the Stevens walking down the street so I run after them, but when I get close I feel a pain go through my head and chest. I let out a loud scream and fall to the ground. A second later my world is consumed by darkness.

I wake up to a beeping sound, but when I try to open my eyes they don't budge. I hear people talking around me but then they get quiet, and I hear someone walk into the room.

"What happened?" Someone asks, I think it was my mom. "Well it seems that for a long time she had a memory loss. And for some reason today all the memories came back to her at once. It caused her body to get overwhelmed so she passed out. We have to run some test but she should be out of here by tomorrow." The doctor I'm assuming said.

"Wait so she remembers everything?" A guy, Connor I'm assuming, asks. "Yes. What ever it was that she forgot, she knows now." The doctor says,then I hear him leave.

After a while the room is quiet so I fall asleep again. I wake up a little later and my eyes actually open. I see Scarlett and Seth sleeping on a chair, Haley and Jace sleeping on a little bench in the corner, Meredith and Coby sleeping on the floor with a blanket, and Pat sleeping in a chair next my bed with his head resting on my hand.

I'm confused at first but then I realize I'm in a hospital room. I go to get up but pain shoots through my hand, and I look down to see an IV. I start to flip out a little cause I hate IV's, I end up waking up Pat.

"Abbi it's ok. It's just an IV." He says as he rest his hands on my shoulder. I calm a little so he puts his hands down. He goes to get up but I grab his hand.

"Where are you going?" I ask. "I thought you might be hungry." He says.

"I'm not. Can you just come and lay with me, I don't wanna be the only one awake." I tell him. So he comes over and lays down on the bed next to me. I rest my head on his chest, and arms wrap around me.

I end up falling asleep to the beating of his heart.
