Chapter 11

•Brittany's POV•

I woke up laying on Hayes' lap and he had his arms around me. I was a little confused at first, but then I remembered what happened and where I was.

I was actually surprised my parents let me spend the night with Hayes. I must've fallen asleep during the movie.

And apparently Hayes did too.

I didn't want to wake him, so I slowly eased out of his arms and sat up.

I decided to just do stuff on my phone until he woke up.

I had three texts, all from friends back at home. Their names are Ashton, Caroline, and Peyton.

They were all pretty much the same. Asking how I was and if I was having a good time.

I decided to create a group message and tell them about Hayes.

Me: hey guys! just wanted to let you know I'm having a great time here. But I miss u all! and guess what? I made a new friend...😄

Peyton: miss you too!❤️and who is he/she?

Ashton: hey Brit! and yeah, who is it?

Me: I still can't believe it myself..

Caroline: who is it?!?

Me: HAYES GRIER

Ashton: no way!!!!😍

Peyton: omg ur sooooo lucky! did u guys talk?

Caroline: yeah what happened?!

Me: we've become pretty good friends. We actually went to dinner last night and then came back to his place and watched a movie. Then we both fell asleep and I'm still here

Ashton: O.M.G

Caroline: ahhhhhhh!!!!

Peyton: awwwwww😙

Me: yeah and I fell asleep on his lap😁

Caroline: does he like u??

Peyton: yeah. Y'all would be a really cute couple💘

Me: idk probably not.😔

Ashton: welllll you fell asleep on his lap sooooo...😏I think you guys might have a 'thing'

Me: well, I don't wanna get my hopes up😕and I gtg. He's waking up. Bye guys I'll txt u later! Love y'all💕

Caroline: byee💚

Ashton: bye! Keep us updated😉

Peyton: bye-bye. Love ya💋

Hayes slowly sat up, stretched and rubbed his eyes.

"Morning beautiful" he said in his 'morning voice'.

"Good morning" I reply, smiling.

Awe he called me beautiful. Maybe he actually does like me?

"What time is it?" he asks.

I check my phone.

"8:30. I should probably go back to my place and get ready to head out. I'm surprised my parents let me stay the night."

"Okay. Text me when your ready to go. I'll wait here" He says.

"Alright. It won't take me long. Maybe twenty minutes. I've just gotta eat, get cleaned up a little, and put on some different clothes."

"Sounds good" he replies.

Then I went back to our condo and quietly opened the door. Everyone else was already awake, so there was no way I could sneak in and act like nothing happened.

I immediately was bombarded with questions.

"Hey honey, how did you sleep?"

"Do you want some breakfast?"

"How was Hayes?"

"Are you guys dating?"

"How much time do you need to get ready?"

I answered like this:

"Good. Yes. Fine. No. Twenty minutes."

"Okay. Why don't you go get really and I'll make you some breakfast?" my mom asks.

"Alrighty" I reply.

So I went downstairs to my room, got dressed, went back up, had breakfast, and then texted Hayes.

Me: ok all ready

Hayes: I'm in the front with Nash

I looked out my window and sure enough, there they were.

I waved at them and texted Hayes.

Me: haha I see u😉

Then I headed outside with my family and we met up with the rest of the Griers.

"Alright, let's go!" Mrs. Grier says.

And with that, we all headed out to the slopes.

•Hayes' POV•

I still can't believe what happened last night.

She was sleeping on my lap!

But we only had a little bit of time left together until we have to leave. Then we might not see each other for a long time.

I can't think about that now. I have to focus on enjoying the time I have left with her.

"Alright, let's go!" my mom says.

Then we all walk out to the slopes.

Brittany's parents go with my mom, Skylynn, and James to the blues.

Me, Brittany, Nash, and Will decide to try out the blacks.

We had been out there for about thirty minutes and were all talking and having a good time, when someone started hollering above us.

We were almost to the bottom and the person was speeding down the mountain, clearly out of control.

"Look out!" they screamed.

They were coming so fast none of us had time to react. Or move out of the way.

Then all of a sudden I heard what sounded like a huge collision.

And a scream.
