The house was filled with eerie silence and Dove was lying on the living room couch with her head hanging over the edge. She was watching the big clock on the main wall tick by seconds, which made her day feel like it was dragging on. There was nothing to do besides laying down doing absolutely nothing but breathe. Dove was growing impatient since her laptop died so she had to charge it before she cold respond to the boy that lived elsewhere. She wanted to meet him face to face or get a picture of him, but she thought it'd be weird to ask him about it. She didn't like stepping too far into a boundary.
It was when her laptop made a starting up sound that she fell off the couch and bolted toward it. The screen slowly lit up and her nerves were jittery inside of her skin. It felt like it was Christmas morning and she was about to open the biggest present that laid under the tree. She played with her fingers until it was her turn to type in the password, which she had to go over a few times because she kept pressing the wrong keys.
It took a total of five minutes for her computer to load, and once it finished, she opened her email and clicked on the one that she had yet to read. She stormed through the words as if it were the best milkshake she'd ever had in her hands. Once she was done, she pressed the little reply button and quickly typed down words.
'Dear Hunky Dory Maximus,
Man, I'm doing good. You don't need to worry about me. If I don't have to worry about you, I think it's fair if you don't worry about me.
But, I do need to bring up some stuff I think may be important.
I really want to meet you. Like, in person. I'm not sure if that sounds stupid or not. I really shouldn't be typing this.
Oops...I'm sending it.
Later...
Your weirdo,
Dove.'
