Chapter Fifty Two

"Wake up," Max heard in his ear. He fluttered his eyes open just to close them again and murmur words that weren't English. "Breakfast is on the table and I have to go. Wake up." Max grumbled and winced when he turned around to face the person speaking. His wounds were still healing and he had an average pain tolerance.

"It hurts," Max murmured and closed his eyes again. But he soon sat up with a jump when he felt a slap strike his cheek.

"I told you to wake up," his father growled and before he couldn't continue, he stormed out of the room and left the house.
