Max was home alone, like he usually was for the past little while. His father didn't really care about his existence anymore and wouldn't even check in on him like his father once did. It made Max grow suspicious, but there wasn't much the teenager could do unless he tried finding answers in his father's office, which wasn't the greatest idea.
Besides that little detail, however, Max checked his email once his phone dinged a few hours after he sent a message to Dove.
And right in that message that he received held the most important thing he needed. The address to where his love was. Immediately, he went onto Google maps to see the distance between the two locations. It couldn't possibly be more than a couple hours. He lived in North Dakota, which wasn't that far from Canada. In fact, it was right by the border. He wouldn't have to drive far if he decided to take a ride over there.
When it finally loaded on his screen, a number 4 flashed at the bottom. Max grinned, knowing that wasn't the worst. If he blasted music the entire way and drank a lot of energy drinks, he would be able to make it without a single doubt.
The only problem, however, was that Max didn't have a car. He'd have to wake early to steal his dad's, and that itself was the biggest risk Max could possibly take. If his father found out that he was gone, with his vehicle, Max would be a dead man before he even got to Canada.
Before Max planned too far, however, he quickly replied to Dove's email.
'Dear Dovey Doovie,
Thanks.
Don't question my motives.
Yours,
Max.'
