Dove read over the email several times and let out a frustrated breath before she slammed her laptop shut. Why did Max have to be such a frustrating person? She wanted to rip her hair out of her scalp just to cope with the pain and the frustration he kept bringing her. I won't be in your future's way. That meant he wasn't going to try anymore. He was letting her go, and finally, she felt alone. There was no more light in her life and she was only able to see the negatives. She almost wished that he would've fought for her, but he didn't.  Instead, he left her. She gulped as she held in tears before she pushed her closed laptop away from her. Something about her had changed, and sadly, she couldn't figure out how.

"Dove! It's time to go on our morning jog!" Her mother called from the front door. Dove groaned and hopped off of her bed, wearing her black short shorts and dark grey tank top.

"Coming!" Dove cried out as she ran out of her room and toward her mother who had the brightest smile on. "You look happy," Dove commented as she pulled on her runners before lacing them. "Anything happen?"

"Nope. Just got a good sleep and I'm energized." Her mother beamed and looked outside, which was blinding from the rays of the sun. Hardly any clouds were in the sky.  "I was thinking that we'd do two more laps than usual. You know, to change it up a little bit." Dove tilted her head as she stood back up and straightened her spine.

"Yeah, let's do it."

And then, with a quick swig from her water bottle, she set off with her mother on the run.
