Chapter 13:

(A Week Later)

(Valeria's POV)

The girls and I were having a pool day at the local pool. We were going to stay inside but it was really hot so we wanted to get in the water.

We had just gotten to the pool and right now we were just tanning. I had brought my mini echo with me so we could listen to music.

"How long should we tan for?" Nayeli asked once we had gotten down on our towels. "Let's do 20 minutes on each side, then we can go into the pool." Aly suggested and we nodded to the idea. 

"What song should I put on?" I asked as I was scrolling thru my playlist. "Running' by John K!" Aly said. I nodded and clicked on the song. (A/N: Play Runnin' by John K.)

"I can't get over how good that song is!" Nayeli said after the song was over and another random song on my playlist started playing. (A/N: I didn't know who John K was until I heard him at the Alex & Sierra concert last month! He is so good, check him out!)

(40 Minutes Later)

We have been in the pool for about 10 minutes now and we are just swimming around. This felt so good because it was starting to get super hot, so the cool water was super nice. 

"Where is Shawn now?" Val asked. "I think he said he would be in Tennessee today," I said trying to remember what he had texted me last night. 

"What do you guys want to do after we get out?" I asked them. "Let's go walk around the park or something after we change." Nayeli suggested.

(30 Minutes Later)

We finally got out of the pool and we headed into the bathroom's here at the pool to get changed. We were getting changed when I heard Nayeli scream. "HELP!" 

I quickly got out of the stall and saw a guy make a run for it. "What happened?" I said hugging her. "That guy was trying to.." She started but I stopped her because I knew exactly what she meant. 

"Lets go home, yeah?" I asked her and she nodded. I grabbed our stuff and headed back to my house. I think Val was already walking in that direction. 

We just got back to the house and Nayeli wouldn't stop shaking. Like who would after something like that. I was trying to get a hold of Val but she wouldn't answer the phone. 

"I'll be back okay," I told Nayeli and in the process of leaving I told her to lock the door. I went back to the pool and I saw something I never wanted to see. 

One of my best friends was sitting by the bathroom door and she was bleeding. "Val!" I yelled running up to her but she wouldn't wake up or answer me. I took out my phone and called 911. 

The ambulance was on it's way and I called Nayeli while waiting. I told her to get ready and once the ambulance took Val to the hospital, I would go back home and we would drive there together. 

"What happened?" A paramedic asked. "I don't know, we were at the pool then we went into the bathrooms to change. And I heard my friend Nayeli scream for help. I got out of the stall and she was about to get raped by this guy. Then I took her back to my house, but noticed that my friend hadn't come home. So I came back and I found her unconscious by the bathroom and she was a bleeding mess." I explained. 

"We will get here there as soon as possible." He said as they rolled her into the ambulance.
