Chapter 34:

(Lazy Day)

(Shawn's POV)

It's been two days since we adopted Gracie and she is the light that lights up mine and Aly's life right now. We haven't told Gracie about the wedding yet but we will soon. And we plan on telling our parents about Gracie too. 

"Aly, babe, can you get the door?" I asked. "Sure," I heard her say and saw her come out of the kitchen. I had a sleeping Gracie in my lap and I didn't want to wake her. She got the chance to come home but has to go back for when she needs to get her chemo sessions. 

"Who was it?" I asked.

"Hi son," my mom said as he walked in with dad and little sister. 

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked, trying not to wake Gracie. "We thought we would stop by since we were in town and visit our son." Dad said.

"And who's this?" Mom said sitting down a chair in front of the couch. I looked over at Aly and she got the clue to come over and sit down. We had to tell them sooner or later. Here goes nothing. 

I grabbed Aly's hand with the opposite hand that was holding onto Gracie so she wouldn't fall. "Mom, dad, Aaliyah, Aly and I adopted Gracie a few days ago." I said. 

"You did what!" My dad yelled. 

"Manuel, calm down." Mom said trying to make dad sit back down. 

"Let me explain," I continued. 

"I'm going to go help Aly," Aaliyah said getting up and following Aly upstairs. 

"Okay, so a few days ago, I had the idea to give back to some of my fans that couldn't really go to any of my concerts. So I went to the local hospital and did a mini concert for some of the cancer patients. After the mini concert, I asked the nurse about Gracie and after Aly and I talked to her we wanted to take her in. She was abandoned by her old parents because they found out she had Stage 3 Cancer. A 6 year old shouldn't have to go thru that alone, so if you think we made the wrong choice, please leave because I wouldn't leave Gracie for my life, she's my daughter now and I will do anything for her." I said and I didn't even notice I was in tears. 

"Son, omg we didn't know. We are here for you guys," My mom said, looking over at dad. 

"I don't know why you and Aly are doing this. This is going to set your life back so much, paying the medical bills, the loose, everything." Dad said. 

"What the fuck is wrong with you!" I said and at this point I didn't even care he was my father. I punched him. 

"Mom I think you should leave, i'll take Aaliyah home later." I said and thats al they did was leave. I looked over to the staircase and their stood my fiance. 

"Did you see all of that?" I asked. She nodded. "I'm happy you didn't let your dad tell you, you were doing the wrong thing. I know this is the right thing for the both of us." Aly said. 

"I know, it is." I said and pulled her in for a kiss. 

"Now shall we go see what our daughter is going with her aunt," I said. I grabbed Aly's hand as we walked upstairs. We walked into the bedroom and there was my little sister and my baby girl asleep. 

"I love you,"

"I love you,"
