(Waterpark Fun)
(Gracie's POV)
"Let's get you dressed," mommy said grabbing the clothes I was going to wear today. I don't know where we are going but I think we're going to grandma's.
(10 Minutes Later)
I grabbed the teddy bear daddy got me before one of my Chemo's and headed downstairs with mommy. "Are my two princesses ready to go?" Daddy asked. I nodded and mommy did too.
We got into the car and mom strapped me into my car seat. I was going to do it but she insisted on wanting to do it.
"Where are we going?"
"You'll find out soon, princess."
I laid back and next thing I know I fell back asleep. Guess it's a good idea to sleep before we get to wherever we are going.
(Aly's POV)
"Do you think she knows?" I asked Shawn as I looked back and she was fast asleep. He shook his head. "She's gonna have so much fun," Shawn said and I nodded in agreement.
She's been begging us to go to a Waterpark for weeks now but we've been putting it off because of her Chemo but she's been pretty down lately so we decided to finally take her today.
We had another surprise for her when we get to the park too. She was going to love it.
(About an Hour Later)
"Gracie, wake up." I heard Shawn say as he tried waking her up. We just got to the Waterpark and I was getting the stuff from the trunk we'll he did that.
"How'd you sleep, baby?" I asked her as she curled into Shawn. "Good," she mumbled and I could tell she was still sleepy.
We got to the entrance of the Waterpark and that's when I saw the girls. "Gracie, sweetie. Wake up," I said rubbing her back. She looked around and her eyes lit up when she saw her aunties and saw that we were at a Waterpark.
"What are we doing here?"
"We wanted you to have a little fun before Chemo tomorrow." Shawn explained.
"Mommy, what about my wig?" She said knowing she might have to take it off because of the water. "You can take it off, sweetheart. Everything will be okay." I said rubbing her back as she stood next to me.
She finally gave in and handed me the wig. I put it into our backpack as we headed in the direction of where the lockers were located. I put it in there and she came to my side as she saw people looking at her.
"Princess, everything is okay. Your still beautiful without your wig." I said kissing her forehead. I knew she didn't feel that way but the doctors told us to try and keep her hopes up even when she was feeling embarrassed about not having anymore hair left.
"Where do you want to go first?"
"The bucket!"
And that's where we went she stood below the big bucket waiting for it to fall. She said she wanted to try it on her own so we waited where the rest of the parents were.
"It was so fun! Mommy come with me!" She said grabbing my hand and pulling me to where she was a few seconds ago.
We did the bucket drop a few more times then headed to where some of the slides were. Shawn wanted to take Gracie down one and knowing Gracie she was the first one to go up with him. I waited down at the end of the slide so I could video tape them while the girls went with them.
I had never seen Gracie this smiley and happy before ever since we adopted her a few months ago and I couldn't be happier.
