Chapter 10: Park

Jen Pov:

I wake up in the morning to Ainsley tapping my shoulder. She only had two nightmares last night.

"Good morning mommy" she says with a sleepy smile and hair in her face

"Hi my baby" I say and kiss her forehead "ready for some breakfast"

"No I ate"

I look at her confused "what did you eat?"

"The food in the cabinet. You said that it was the food for the bowl"

"No that's the dog food, you shouldn't eat that it's not good for you" I say with concern

"I'm sorry" Ainsley says and starts to cry

I embrace her in a hug "no it's okay baby. I know you are used to living a little differently."

"I could reach the cabinet I had to eat it" she cries

"Honey you will never have to worry. I will always give you whatever you need"  I say in reassurance

"My tummy hurts"

"I'm sure. Well I'm going to call the doctor why don't you go play with your toys by yourself for a bit"

"How?"

My face drops at her question. She doesn't even know how to play alone. I get out of bed and pick her up. She lays her head on my shoulder as I call the doctor. The doctor informs me that everything will be okay and I can just give her some tums. Also she says it's completely normal for her to seek out food since it's a survival instinct that has been implanted in her for so long. I place Ainsley on the couch and she pets Ava. I clean up the kitchen and get myself some breakfast. I make a cup of tea to settle Ainsley's stomach, then I sit down on the couch next to Ainsley. She takes the warm cup in her hands and sips it while I rub her back

"What do you want to do today" I ask

"I want to see the baby. Can I take the phone to ask Kyle"

"You mean call him?"

"Yes"

I smile at her and pull up Kyle's contact on my phone. She presses the call button and I help her hold the phone to her ear. He answers after a couple rings

"Hello?"

"Hi Kyle!"

"Hi, Ainsley?"

"I don't feel good, can see Eli"

"What's wrong"

"My tummy hurts"

"I'm so sorry, of course you can see the baby. Do you want to go to the park"

"I don't know what that is"

"Well I can show you it will be fun"

"Will Lorelei come?"

"Yes she will. Why don't you give the phone to your mommy now okay sweetie"

"Okay" Ainsley says happily then hands me the phone

"Hey, sorry she wanted to call" I say and hold Ainsley in my arms
