Chapter 21: Last Day

Jen's Pov:

I wake up to my alarm and sit up in my bed. Today is a very sad day for me. Over the last week I announced to the fans that I wouldn't be returning to Once for the next season. It was an incredibly difficult decision for me but in the end I needed to think of myself. I have been working on directing and I need to pursue other options. Basically I have not been in control of my life for 6 years and now I'm going to have many more opportunities. I will forever love my time there and I didn't want to leave the people. Now I have even a stronger reason to leave, my daughter. Next week, Ainsley and I are moving to New York. When we arrive, we are going to the court house for her to officially become my daughter. My whole family is flying in and we will have a little party. Ainsley is excited and a little confused about the whole ordeal, in her eyes I'm already her mother. Honestly the one who is most nervous is Kyle. I invited him and the kids to come but that would mean he would meet my whole family. Things are getting pretty serious between us, I mean he is essentially moving to New York for me. He's currently looking for houses upstate so he can have a bigger house for his kids. Until he finds a place he is going to be staying with me in my apartment. Today I am filming my last scene in the morning then saying my goodbyes. It is going to be really hard. My thoughts are interrupted by Ainsley coming in my room and climbing over to me

"Good morning mommy"

I kiss the top of her head "morning baby, ready to go to the set"

"This is the last day right?"

"Yes, it's time to say goodbye to our friends"

"But I like Evan and Oliver"

"I know but remember we are moving to New York. We will have a new home and have new friends"

"Lorelei is my best friend"

"I know and they will be coming with us"

"Really!"

"Yes! And you get to meet your aunt, uncle, and cousins next week. Also you get to see grandma and grandpa again"

"Yay!"

I smile at her excitement and we get ready for the day. I place Ava on her leash and buckle Ainsley in the car. We head off to my last day of work. When I pull up, nearly the whole cast is waiting for me. I get pulled in a bunch of hugs in many different directions.

"Okay okay guys it's not only my last day" I laugh

"Yes it is" Ginny interrupts "Josh, Bex, Emilie, and I still have one more scene to film tomorrow"

"Come on let's go to the trailer and become Emma Swan for the last time" Lana says and leads me to the makeup trailer. Ainsley walks behind me with Rebecca singing the little mermaid. Ava and Bella, Bex's dog, get along great and walk with each other. We arrive at hair and makeup and I say my goodbyes to the makeup team as well. I head over to the studio with Colin and Evan. Ainsley and Evan stand together and play while we shoot our scenes.

"I'm afraid this might be our last kiss" Colin says in his Killian voice

"Oh don't worry. I still have to come back for the second episode of season 7. I'm sure we'll kiss then" I roll my eyes

"It's not going to be the same without you" he admits

"I'll miss you too. You will always be my tv husband don't worry"

"Thank you. Well for the record I hope to see Kyle as your real husband someday"

I smile and hug him "thanks for looking out for me"

"Please, you are always the one looking out for yourself. Don't forget to text sometime"

"I won't, I'll miss you"
