Derek's POV

"Dude you're never gonna get a girlfriend" My friend Alex said as we were sitting at the karaoke bar and I just looked at him
"Yes I will" I said and he looks at me
"Dude, you seriously find every reason you can to stop talking to somebody" he said and I looked at him
"I do not" I said and he looked at me funny
"Yes you do" he said and I took a breath and he spoked up
"You can never talk to someone longer then a month" he said and I looked at him in a weird way and he just looked at me
"I bet you a hundred dollars that you will find a girl here tonight and you will stop talking to her after a month" he said and I raised my eyebrows
"Seriously?" I said and he nodded
"Yes, I know I will win" he said and I just looked at him
"Fine whatever I'll take that bet" I said and we shook hands
"Now look around and find someone" he said and I rolled my eyes and look around and I spot a girl with short brown hair who was singing, and she was incredible and she's not bad looking and I took a breath
"Fine I'll ask her" I said pointing at her and Alex's eyes went wide
"Her!?" He said and I nodded
"She's out of your league, do you see how gorgeous she is!" He said and I looked at him
"I bet I can make her fall for me because I am just as good as anybody else" I said and his eyes went wide...I know this is inconsiderate but this isn't gonna last long, we date and stuff for over a month and call it quits, I seriously have nothing to lose
"I bet you can't" he said and I spoked up
"Fine lets add another 50" I said and he nodded
"Deal" he said and she just got dome singing and I got up walked up to her
"Hey" I said and she looked at me
"Um hi" she said smiling
"So I couldn't help but notice your singing, and I was wondering if I can have your number?" I asked and she raised her eyebrow and I spoked up
"I'm Derek by the way" I said and shook her hand and she smiled
"I'm Lisa" she said and I nodded
"So do I get your number?" I asked and she laughed
"I don't see why not" she said and I handed her my phone and she added her number to it and gave it back
"Here you go" she said and smiled and I nodded
"Thanks, I'll make sure to send you a text" I said and she nodded
"Okay" she said smiling and I walked back over to Alex
"So I got her number, prepare to lose this bet" I said and he smirked
"Alright we will see" he said and I know this is immature since I'm 24, but I am so sick of Alex cracking these jokes, and I'm gonna prove myself and if this is the way to do it, then I will.
