Chapter 16
"Only one more class, that's all, I can do this," Nora whispered as she walked down the hall, a sigh tumbling from her lips as she gripped onto her books, running a hand through her hair, "then I can sleep for two weeks."
"First step to crazy is talking to yourself," James sang, automatically taking the books from her hand whilst she protested, throwing him a glare.
"You know, I'm not a frail little child who can't carry four books, y'know," she huffed, "I was perfectly fine carrying them on my own."
"Yes, I know," James chuckled, "I don't disagree with that, I but I like carrying them for you, it gives you more energy to kill your enemies, and it stops me from killing Caden if I see him,"
"Can't argue with that," Nora grinned, laughing softly as she walked with him, "I'm rather excited for Christmas, I have to admit, but I suppose it does get a little lonely around her."
"What do you do?"
"I just go to the tree house mostly," she sighed, "I wanted to leave the castle, maybe take a trip somewhere, but I'm not sure I'd do it alone, seeing as I'd probably get lost, if someone was with me, at least we would be lost together."
"Why doesn't Aubrey stay if she hates her family so much?" James asked, a sigh tumbling from his lips as he turned to her, seeing her shrugging.
"She prefers her room, she has her records, and stuff, I'm actually giving her, her present tonight, and yours too, before you go," she grinned, wiggling her eyebrows, "it's Thursday, of course, so be at the tree house right after class."
"You got me a present?" he asked, his eyebrow raised as he turned to her, of course, he got her one, but he knew that she struggled with money, he would rather she didn't waste it on him.
"Of course, I did," she nodded, "I couldn't not get you something!"
"But what about your savings? For traveling? You should have kept it and used it on something much more worthy!" he exclaimed, wide eyed.
"You are worthy," she laughed softly, "but surprisingly, the present didn't cost anything, I mean, it may possibly be illegal, but I think you'll like it."
"Illegal, really Nora?" he scoffed, his eyebrow raised as she grinned at him, reaching for her books, "you're crazy."
"But you love me," she giggled, pushing herself up to kiss his cheek before turning down the corridor opposite to the one he was going.
"Unsurprisingly, I know I do," he whispered, a smile on his lips as she watched her rush down the hallway, chuckling when he turned to go the other way.
"Adria Belle Hopkins, Finnegan Wilson, what a wonderful day to see two wonderful people!" Nora smirked as she fell onto her seat, turning to the two whose grins where wide.
"Nora Robinson, did my eyes deceive me or did me and my wonderful boyfriend just pass you kissing James Potter?" asked Finn, his eyebrow raised as Adria's head snapped to her, wide eyed whilst Nora scoffed.
"Oh please, Finn, add all of the details next time, will you?" Nora teased, sitting her books onto the table, "I kissed his cheek."
"Still lip contact," Finn winked, "honestly, can you just hurry up and kiss him already?"
"Yeah, but can you do it tomorrow, or Christmas day?" asked Adria, winking at Nora.
"Why?" asked Nora, scoffing.
"No, do it at New Years," Finn piped in, "the countdown to seventy-six!"
"You guys placed a bet, didn't you?" Nora asked, her eyes narrowed as she shook her head, "if it were to happen, I'd make sure it was neither of those days now, and besides, James is going home for the holidays, so your bet is worthless!"
