I left early in the morning while Kara was fast asleep. It was best if we weren't together. I kept repeating it over and over in my head. We can't be together, it would only end in tragedy.
I had business to attend to Mexico, more specifically my fathers business. My father is one of the most powerful and dangerous leaders of the Mexican drug cartel. That's why I was sent to boarding school in my youth, for my safety. My father may be dangerous but he cares about family above anything else. I had a lot of angst against my father in my early years, I found him cold and cruel, now I understand his reasoning for everything he did. Now I help him, I'm in Mexico to help with the financial aspect of the dealings. Kara doesn't want someone like me, someone like me gets you killed. That's why I live in America, for safety but that is not guaranteed and I can't take any risks with Kara's life. A life so precious cannot be juggled. That's why I'm putting her on a plane and not looking back. I finally understand the cheesy saying of "if you love someone, let them go" I'm letting you go Kara. I will think of you everyday of my life, and I pray that you find your happiness and I pray for your safety.
