Chapter Twenty-Two

Naruto was greeted by an excited Hinata who immediately engulfed him in a hug.

"Hey Hinata chan!" Naruto said happily as he hugged her back.

"I miss you!" Hinata mumbled into his neck.

"Aww Hinata chan it was only for one night and you already miss me that much?" Naruto grinned as he pulled away from his wife.

"Imagine if I have to go for overseas meeting, whatever will happen to my poor wife?"

Hinata's cheeks blushed a pink colour as she pouted at her husband.

"Don't tease me Naruto kun... And don't act as if you don't miss me too!"

Naruto was about to answer her when he looked over her shoulder to see their bedroom door opened.. Their study table was in full view and there was a piece of paper and  a pencil and eraser on the table, with hordes of crumpled paper surrounding it...

"Hinata chan... What are you doing over there?" the blonde nudged to the direction of their study table.

Hinata's eyes widened as she waved her hands in an attempt to defend the said table.

"No no no Naruto kun! That is a surprise! I'm doing something and you can't see it!"

Naruto frowned as he looked at his wife.

"Why ever not? I've already seen half of it might as well I see the rest of it?"

Hinata shook her head firmly.

"No Naruto kun! This is a vow I made myself! I want to complete whatever I'm doing first before I present it to you!"

"Aww... How long will it take???"

Hinata thought for a while before her eyes lit up.

"I can do it faster if you pass me your phone."

Naruto raised an eyebrow.

"My phone?"

"Yes your phone."

"Why?"

"Just do it Naruto kun!"

The blonde fished out his phone from his pocket and passed it to her. Miraculously his phone actually survived the accident so he didn't need to buy a new one... However Hinata frowned as she looked through his phone...

"What are you looking for Hinata chan?"

"Where is that music box piece that Naruto kun showed to me last year? The one where his dad created it for his mum... I clearly remember it's in his phone but why the file does not exist anymore??? I need to listen to that piece again as I've forgotten some parts after all the drama that has been happening to me..." Hinata thought frantically to herself.

"Hinata chan?"

"This is weird... Really weird and suspicious... First my house got broken into and my music piece for Naruto kun got stolen, then his wedding ring also got stolen during the accident and now... That music box piece is missing from his phone..."

"Princess?"

Hinata immediately responded to the blonde's nickname for her as Naruto studied her with worried eyes.

"You okay princess? You seem really lost for a moment there... What are you looking for in my phone anyway?"

Hinata blinked a few times at her husband before shaking her head.

"It's... It's nothing Naruto kun... Was looking for some of our old honeymoon photos but I think it's been deleted or something..." she then plastered on a huge smile for him. "It's alright Naruto kun! I'll try to get your surprise ready as soon as possible okay?"

Naruto nodded slowly at his wife's sudden change of mood before his expression lit up.

"Hey you know Sasuke teme invited us over for a gig tonight. He said the bar owner, who is his friend, wants him to sing on stage since the place is opening for the first time!"

"Erm... Ano... Are you not too tired? I mean I'm not but I thought since you said you guys stayed up playing games you might be tired to go to Sasuke's gig tonight..."

"No no it's fine. I'm fine Hinata chan. I'll just have a quick shower and sleep through the afternoon..." Naruto said as he walked past Hinata to get his towel in their bedroom...

Before Hinata can say anything, Naruto turned around and gave the bluenette a charming wink.

"It's okay Hinata chan. I won't peek at your surprise okay? I'll stay FAAAARRRR away from the study table if it makes you happy."

Hinata blushed but looked down to avoid looking at her husband... However, Naruto's shadow loomed over her as she slowly looked up...

"Eh? Naruto kun?"

"Hinata chan..." Naruto's breath suddenly fanned her face as he neared their lips. "I've decided that I can't wait any longer... I want to take you... Now..."

Hinata's eyes widened in surprise before feeling Naruto's lips against hers...
