Chapter Thirty-One
"Naruto kun! You look dashing!" Shizuka squealed at the blonde who just rolled his eyes.
"Come on Shizuka you say that for every single outfit I wear." Naruto replied in a bored voice as Shizuka frowned at her boyfriend.
"You seem upset with me..."
Naruto frowned back at her.
"No."
"I know when you're upset with me. Is it because of me not altering the music score to suit my voice?"
Naruto shrugged.
"Shizuka it was just a suggestion. You don't need to be so sensitive about it..." Naruto began before Shizuka glared at him.
"It's your music piece so I'm not modifying anything. It's catered for a male voice and it shall remain that way."
Naruto was speechless at the defiance in her voice when Sasuke knocked on the dressing room door.
"Dobe, you ready? Principal Tsunade asked me to get you. The piano competition is starting soon." he said as he entered the room.
Shizuka frowned at his presence.
"Ugh Uchiha what the hell do you want?!?" Shizuka said with disgust.
Sasuke rolled his eyes as he brushed past her, making sure his shoulder bumped into her so that she staggered.
"Dobe, you know you're the only one up for this piano competition right." he stated as Naruto was fixing his tuxedo collar when the blonde frowned, whipping his head to look at his best friend.
"What the hell are you talking about? Hinata ch... Hinata is also in this compet..."
"She dropped out. Hiashi Hyuga allowed it as she needed some time off." Sasuke ended the conversation bluntly as he nudged towards the door.
"Come on let's go. You win by default but you still have an audience to perform for."
Shizuka looked at the Uchiha with a triumphant smile.
"Wait-wait so Hinata is not performing? Oh makes no difference since my Naruto kun will win anyway."
Naruto was about to open his mouth to defend Hinata when Sasuke beat him to it.
"Woman just shut it already. And you've never called him Naruto kun but just because he lost his memory you conveniently want to replace Hinata. Are you that desperate?"
Naruto whipped his head to his friend.
"Eh? She never calls me Naruto kun before? Ever?"
Sasuke sighed as he was about to pull his hair but decided against it since he doesn't want to end up with a duck butt hair...
"Whatever I don't want to argue about this! Come on dobe if not Principal Tsunade will punch me to kingdom come!"
Naruto nodded quickly as he followed after Sasuke.
Shizuka glared at the Uchiha before giving a sweet smile to Naruto.
"Bye Naruto kun! I'll be supporting you from the front row!" she called out as Naruto just acknowledged her cheers with a curt nod...
