APRIL 7TH, 2017

The guys and I were supposed to have a day off yesterday but the rain decided to put a damper on things the day before so we had to play a ballgame yesterday. We ended up winning yesterday, but it still sucked to travel to Milwaukee from St. Louis and have no time to rest.

Especially when you're pregnant, I'm really feeling it today. Kris and I haven't told anyone that I'm pregnant yet and to be honest, I don't want to unless we're back home and we know everything is going to be okay with the baby.

I woke up with my usual morning sickness, but I knew something was wrong as soon as I went to pee and saw blood and I cried, knowing that the traveling was going to do this to me, unless it was normal to bleed like this.

I sighed and washed up and went back into the bedroom. "Hey you ready, wait baby what's wrong why are you crying?" He said coming over to me and wrapping me up in his arms. "Kris I'm bleeding and it has to do with the pregnancy I think." I said wiping the tears that had fallen.

"Do we have to go to the hospital?" He asked and I sighed detaching myself from him and getting dressed in comfy clothes. "Yeah I think we do. Just to be safe. But you have a game to play today, you can't come with me." I said, as much as I wanted him to I knew how much this year meant to him.

"No, you're more important than baseball babe, I'm going to tell Joe everything and then we'll leave okay?" "Kris, you can't. Please." I said begging him not to, but I knew it wouldn't work. He came over and kissed my forehead. "Babe, you're my number one priority now." He said then leaving the room.

I sighed and got changed and waited for Kris to come back. He came back moments later. "Alright only Joe knows and he won't tell anyone why we're there." He said grabbing things and then dragging me out of the room and down to the lobby to get a cab.

We got to the hospital not long after we left the hotel and got checked in quickly and taken back to a room. "So what seems to be the problem here?" The doctor said coming into the room after the nurse did the usual things to me.

"Well I'm pregnant and this morning I went to the morning and experienced some bleeding and I came here just to be safe and find out what's going on." I said and he smiled. "First pregnancy?" He asked and I nodded. "You're the father? And Kris Bryant?" He said shocked to see him.

Kris laughed. "Yes and yes, pleasure to meet you." He said shaking his hand. "Big fan, originally from Chicago, cried when you guys won." He said and we all laughed. "Alright enough chit chat, let's find out what's going on." He said as he told me to lay back as he did the ultrasound.

I didn't hear a heartbeat, but maybe it would be too early for that, but I was expecting the worst and everything you know. "Alright, I'm going to send you up to OB and they're going to explain everything to you there, alright?" He said shaking both of our hands and leaving the room.

About a half hour later, the nurse came in and took us up to OB and sat us in another room. "Alright, so the doctor that did the initial exam isn't an OB like I am, so we're going to do another ultrasound to make sure he was right about what he saw." She said coming into the room.

I sighed and laid back again as she put the cold gel on my stomach and did the ultrasound. She sighed as she looked at the screen and I knew the worst was going to come out of her mouth. "Don't be alarmed that this happened. I know it's going to be hard on the both of you, but this is a common thing with women who travel a lot and I can tell by the bags under your eyes that you travel a lot with your job."

"I do. I'm the Athletic Trainer for the Chicago Cubs." I said and she smiled. "With your job, it's going to be hard for you to have Children. Especially during the season with all the stress you're under during the season with travel. I've seen this before in baseball wives and girlfriends. I'm glad you came in when you did or it could've been worse. This baby will pass it's course on it's own, but I suggest you lay low today and tomorrow."

I sighed and closed my eyes not wanting to cry in front of her or Kris. I hated crying in front of Kris. "Thank you for everything." Kris said shaking her hand. "I'm sorry for your loss you two." She said hugging me before walking out of the room.

It took one look at Kris for me to start bursting into tears. He brought me into a hug shedding some tears of his own. "It's okay babe. We'll try again once the seasons over." He said, his voice cracking. I cried even more.

About an hour later we left the room and went back to the hotel. Kris called Joe and told him the situation and he gave us both the day of to relax and mourn the loss of our baby. We got back to the hotel and none of the guys were there which was good because we didn't have to answer questions from them about where we were.

We went back to our room and I just changed back into my pajamas and laid in bed, not wanting to face the world. "You know we can't just sit around here all day right?" He said cuddling me and I nodded.

"But it's going to take away the pain for awhile, I don't want to go out and I don't want to eat anything. I'm just sad." I said crying again. I didn't think I had any tears left in me to cry.

"I know princess. We'll get through this together. This breaks some people apart, but it won't for us. It'll bring us together and our little angel will watch over us this season and help guide us. I love you Sky."

He kissed my forehead and I sighed. "I love you too Bry, so much."
