APRIL 16TH, 2018

This was the closest date I could get to the day Matthew had started texting me for an appointment with my lawyer. I hated going to extreme measures like this but with the baby coming, I have to do this.

Kris has a night game against the Cardinals tonight and I'm hoping to be out of here before he leaves for the park so I can tell him everything that's going on. "Ah Skylar, it's good to see you again. How can I help you today?" My lawyer asked as I walked into the room.

"Well Matthew is back again and he's been stalking me and sending me messages from and unknown number. I want to get a restraining order on him, or preferably in jail." I said and he nodded and wrote everything down.

"Do you have the messages saved?" He asked and I nodded getting out my phone and showing him everything he's been sending me. "I see. Well there's nothing we can really do about this but just let everything play out, but I suggest that you get a new phone. As for the stalking, just keep an eye out for him at all times while you're out." He said.

I sighed knowing this was a long shot, but I had to take the measures to make sure that my baby and I were safe. "Thank you for everything. If anything happens, I'll be sure to call." I said getting up and shaking his hand.

I got into my car and went right off to AT&T to get myself a new number and while I was there, my old phone went off with a text. "Uh m'am, you have a text on this phone which is weird since I disabled the number ten minutes ago and it just came in." The worker said handing me my phone back.

I opened the text: New phone number? Doesn't mean I won't find out the new one. Baby you can't hide from me, you should know that by now.

I didn't notice that I was crying until the worker that pointed it out. "Everything isn't fine. My ex is trying to stalk me and kill me, hence why I'm here getting a new phone and a new number." I said and wiped my tears.

"Don't worry, we'll handle all that. Don't put anymore stress on yourself right now. We'll put a block on that number on your new phone so you won't get anymore messages from him." He said and I smiled at him and thanked him and calmed myself down.

After everything was settled, it was time for me to go home and hopefully Kris was home so that I could tell him everything. "Hey sweetie, how was the meeting?" Mom asked as I walked through the door.

"It was good, they can't do much until he physically does something to me, which I hope doesn't happen. Is Kris home, or did he leave already?" I asked sitting next to her on the couch. "He left already, why were you gone so long?" She asked.

"After the appointment I went to AT&T to get a new phone and number and after disabling my old phone, a text came through, it was Matthew, again. I can't keep going on like this, he's going to cause me so much stress and it's going to hurt  the baby." I said.

"It's all going to be okay. You know Krill will be your knight and shining armor through all this and protect you and his little girl through everything." She said. "But what happens when he goes on road trips and I'm too big to go with him? Matthew could break in and kill me and no one will know." I said.

"Do you want me to stay? I'll be more than willing to stay with you so you don't feel like that and so that no one kills my baby and grand baby." She proposed and I smiled at her and gave her a hug. "I would absolutely love that." I said.

We both talked for a few more minutes before going into our separate rooms and getting ready for the game. We got to the stadium and went right to the wives and girlfriends section where I sat next to Emily and my mom.

I took in everything as I looked around and my eyes landed on those same brown ones that hurt me long ago. "Oh my god mom, he's here." I said and she and Emily followed my gaze over to him and he got a smirk on his face.

"Want me to get security?" Emily asked and I shook my head no. "Not yet, let's see if he does anything." I said as he got up and walked over to us. "Baby, where have you been?" He asked and I just looked straight ahead and didn't answer him.

"Answer me you bitch." He said grabbing my arm and pulling me up. "Get off me you asshole." I said pulling my arm away from him. Emily had already gotten up and I'm sure she was on her way to get security.

"Oh baby, you shouldn't have done that." He said as he raised his arm up to punch me in the face, but it never came. I opened my eyes to see him laying on the ground and my tall handsome husband standing in front of me with rage in his eyes.

"Kris?" I softly said and he turned around and his whole demeanor changed in a matter of seconds. "Baby are you and the baby okay?" He asked hugging me and I wrapped my arms around him.

"We're fine, my arms a little bruised but the both of us we're fine. How's your hand?" I asked pulling away from him and taking his right hand and looking at it and he hissed when I touched it. "You know you could've ended your season right?" I asked looking up at him and he smiled.

"But it would've been protecting you and our baby and I would've been totally fine with that." He said leaning down and kissing me. "Go get that checked out, I'll see you later babe."I said pushing him to go back down to the dugout so the game could start.

"What's going on here?" The security guard asked as he saw Matthew on the ground knocked out cold. I explained everything that happened and he took Matthew away in handcuffs and if I have to say, it was the best thing that I've ever seen.

I sat back down and let out a breath that I didn't know that I was holding. I was very thankful Kris had stepped in when he did, but I couldn't help but wonder what would've happened if he didn't?
