Chapter 27

JUNE 4TH, 2018 

Today was my baby shower and it was an off day for the boys. I've been through trial with Matthew and Kris had to testify on what he did that day in the park and he got suspended for a week, but I could care less, he defended me and our baby girl. That's all I wanted from him. 

"Babe, are you ready to go?" Kris asked walking into our bedroom as I was getting my dress on. "Yeah, just help me get my shoes on." I said and he laughed and grabbed the shoes that were on the bed and bent down and put them on my feet. 

"I'm getting so big that I can't do anything myself." I said as he stood back up and wrapped his arms around me. "You still look beautiful though and just think, in two short months we will have our baby girl here with us." He said as he leaned down and kissed me. 

"Yeah, we'll see how everything goes during the delivery because I can tell that you want more kids, right?" I asked and he laughed. "You always know what I'm thinking. But yes, I do want more kids in the future with you. I don't want our little one to be an only child." He said and I smiled. 

"Alright, before I'm late to my baby shower, let's get going." I said as I grabbed my purse and we walked downstairs and out to his car. "Do I get to stay for this?" He asked and I laughed. "I mean you can, but there aren't going to be any guys there. You're supposed to come back at the end and help with getting all the gifts home." I said. 

"So what am I supposed to do?" He asked. "I don't know, go hang out with one of the guys or something. All the wives are going to be here so they're all home. Also, bring Anthony later so we have more car space for the gifts." I said and he nodded as he pulled into the parking lot of the hall where my shower was. 

"Can I at least walk you in?" He asked looking at me and I smiled. "Yes Kris, you can walk me in. You're very overprotective lately." I said as I got out of the car. "Well with everything that happened with Matthew, it's kind of hard not to be." He said as he grabbed my hand as we walked into the building. 

"There she is!" My mom said as she walked over to me and put a sash around me and hugged me. "Alright Kris, it's your time to leave." I said as I turned to him and kissed him and hugged him. "What time do you want me to come back?" He asked. 

"Around 4. Don't forget to have Anthony come too!" I said as he was walking away and now the party could start. "So have you come up with a name yet?" One of Kris' family members asked as I was making the rounds and saying hello to everyone. 

"We've narrowed it down to a few but we're still deciding. We were hoping to give you all a name today, but we still can't come to an agreement." I said and she laughed. "Well whatever you decide on, I know it's going to be beautiful." She said and I smiled and went on to all the others I haven't said hello to yet. 

We all ate great food, and played some games and then it was time to open presents. "Holy god that is a lot of presents." I said as I sat down in the chair they had given me. "Hey, you're the one with so many friends and family." Emily said and everyone laughed. "Yeah, but I wouldn't have it any other way." I said. 

Halfway through opening my presents, my phone started ringing and it was Kris. I accepted the call and put it on speaker. "Yes babe?" I asked and he laughed. "Well I wanted to let you know that we'll go with your name for the girl. Anthony and I were talking about it and I just like it so much more now." He said and I laughed. 

"Are you sure?" I asked. "Yes babe, I'm sure. Now get back to the party, see you soon. I love you." He said. "I love you too Kris." I said before I hung up. "So what's the name?" Kris' mom asked and I smiled. "Her name is, Ryleigh Alyssa Bryant." I said and everyone cheered. 

"What was the other name Kris had in mind?" Someone asked. "It was Hayley Nicole. But I guess he had a change of heart." I said and she laughed and I continued to open the mass amount of presents. 

"So if we have another girl, I'll definitely be covered for a long time and don't need another baby shower." I said after I was done opening them all. "I want to thank you all for coming, Kris, Ryleigh and I feel so loved by all of you. Now it's time to sit back, prepare for her and wait for her arrival." I said and I saw Kris and Anthony walk in and their eyes went wide at all the presents. 

"I'm glad that I brought the truck." Anthony said and I laughed. Anthony put all the boxes in the bed of his truck and then we filled up the back seat and the passenger seat and then we filled up the trunk of my moms car and the rest of her car and then Emily's car and then Kris' car and I'm shocked we had enough room to fit everything. 

"I'm glad I have all of you to help unload this stuff because between Kris and I, it would take hours." I said as we got home and were unloading everything. I had gotten changed into one of Kris' t-shirts and then a pair of leggings, the only things I'm able to wear nowadays. 

"You don't mind if Kris and I assemble things today do you? He just wants to get everything done I guess." Anthony said as he came into the kitchen where Emily , myself and my mom were. "No of course not! Get everything done if you want. It'll be easier if it's the two of you than Kris and I." I said and he smiled and kissed Emily and went back upstairs. 

"So have you and Anthony talked about kids?" My mom asked. "We haven't we're just enjoying life at the moment, but I'm sure once he meets his niece, he's going to want one himself." She said and I laughed. 

I was blessed with an amazing husband, an amazing mom who is willing to go through hell and back with me and two amazing best friends and a soon to be an amazing daughter, Ryleigh. Life couldn't get better.
