Back in Arizona for spring training and this is where it all started for Kris and I. It was kind of bitter sweet knowing that just over a year ago, Kris and I got back together and man has this year flown by.
Kris and I had honeymooned in Disney World, of course. Do you expect anything less? I can't drink and being out tanning isn't good for the baby, so we spent a fun week in Disney World and it was nothing short of amazing.
Today, Kris and I are taking pictures to announce our pregnancy to the world and it's been great being in our own little bubble, but I'm starting to show and the fans will know sooner or later and I would rather get it out to the world ourselves.
"So how is everything in Arizona?" My mom asked as I was on the phone with her getting ready for the photo shoot. "I mean it's going. I'm getting bigger every day and now that I know Matthew has been traded off to somewhere else, it puts my nerves at ease which is great for the baby." I said as I did my makeup.
"Honey, I need to tell you something." Mom said and I got kind of nervous because my mom is never serious like this. "Are you okay mom? What's going on?" I asked putting down my mascara and picking up the phone.
"Your father and I, well we're getting a divorce." She said and I gasped. "What?! What happened?" I asked. "We just fell out of love I guess. Things have been going downhill ever since we moved back to Vegas and well, I guess it was just our time. I'm sorry sweetie." She said and a few tears fell down my face.
"It's okay mom. I just want what's best for you and dad. No one cheated right?" I asked. "Not that I know of anyway, no. Neither of us did." She said. "Why didn't you tell me at the wedding?" I asked, dumb question I know.
"Oh sweetie, I didn't want to ruin your big day for you! It was better to wait until now when it's being finalized." She said and I sighed. "I love you mom and if you ever need a place to stay, Kris and I would love to have you." I said.
"That's very kind of you sweetie. I'll definitely take you up on that offer when my grandson, or granddaughter, comes into this world." She said and I couldn't help but laugh. "Of course, I'm gonna need some mom advice when he or she comes." I said.
We talked a little more about what she's going through and how we both can't wait for the baby to be here. "Hey babe, we gotta go." Kris said poking his head into the bathroom. "Alright mom, I gotta go. Call me if you need anything okay?" I asked.
"I will sweetie, take some amazing pictures today, I love you." She said. "I love you too." We both hung up and I sighed getting up and grabbing my phone and leaving with Kris. "So, how is your mom?" Kris asked as he was driving to the place we were getting the photos done.
"Well, she just told me today that her and my dad are getting a divorce." I said. "No way, how come?" He asked. "She just said they fell out of love and that's been happening ever since they had moved back to Vegas. I had no idea, they still acted like they were the best couple out there."
"I know, I'm sorry babe. I know this must be a tough time for you. I'm always here for you, I have no choice." He said with a smirk, he's a little shit and he knows that. "Yeah, you're stuck with me babe. Forever and always, and for the next 18 years." I said and he laughed.
"I wouldn't trade it for the world babe." He said as he grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it. We got to the place and I knew the background was going to be amazing in all the pictures. We were taking pictures for what felt like hours, but in reality, it was only like an hour and a half.
"I can't wait to see the pictures!" I said as we were driving off towards the city to meet up with Anthony and Emily for dinner. "I know, I can't wait till she sends us the ones we want so we can post them tonight and let everyone know our big news." He said as we pulled into the parking lot.
"Hey girl! How did pictures go today?" Emily asked as we both hugged, I hadn't seen her since the wedding, so we had catching up to do. "Amazing! I can't wait for you guys to see them. How's the wedding planning going?" I asked as we sat down.
"Amazing, we've picked a date and we've picked where we're getting married and the color scheme." She said with a smile. "So, when is it?" Kris asked. "February 1st, in Florida and the color scheme is red and black." Anthony said.
"Oh my god, red and black is going to look amazing!" I said. "The reason why we wanted to have dinner with the both of you is because we have to ask you something." Emily asked and I already knew where this was going.
"We wanted to know if you guys wanted to be our maid of honor and best man." Anthony said. "Of course I will! You were mine and it would only be fair if I was yours too." I said to Emily and she smiled. "Of course I will man, it'll be amazing." Kris said.
"Now we have a question for you guys. Do you guys want to be the godparents of our little guy or girl?" I asked and Emily got the biggest smile on her face. "Of course! But what if one of you guys gets traded?" She asked.
"I don't think that will matter, Kris and Anthony will be best friends till the end of time and one day we're going to live next to each other. According to Kris that is." I said and they laughed. "It's true. I did say that when we both retire we're going to live next to each other and our kids are going to be best friends." Kris said.
I have the best husband, and two best friends a girl could ask for. I also have the best job any girl could ask for and have a baby on the way, life couldn't be better for me than it is right now.
