JUNE 15TH, 2017
God being Kris' fiancé is more than anything I'd ever expect from him. It's like this was meant to be for the both of us. We finally have an off day, our only one in June and I'm still in New York with my mom and my bridesmaids (Emily, Julianna, Brittany and Irmarie) while the guys are in Pittsburgh.
"How does it feel knowing you're going to get married to Kris?" Emily asked, she was going to be my maid of honor. "It's a surreal feeing because I've known he is the guy that I want to marry since I was six years old." I said with a big smile on my face.
"So you ready to get your dress?" She asked as we walked into Kleinfeld, it's always been my dream to get a dress here ever since I saw Say Yes to the Dress. "Girl, you don't know how ready I am." I said with a laugh.
One of the consultants came up to us and took us into the main viewing room and introduced us. "So who is the bride today?" She asked as I raised my hand. "Alright, come with me!" She said and I got up and followed her to the back room. "So tell me about the groom." She said as we got into the dressing room.
"He's a professional baseball player, he plays third base for the Chicago Cubs and his name is Kris. He's the sweetest guy you'll ever meet, wears his heart on his sleeve, family man and he's a great guy." I said with the proudest smile on my face.
"Where did you guys meet?" She asked as she was writing stuff down. "We met when we were six, I mean at six I sure as hell didn't know what love at first sight was, but when I saw Kris, I knew we'd be best friends and then turn into something more." I said.
"Now what do you want for your dress?" She asked. "I'm honestly not picky, but no princess gown, nothing big. I don't have a price range, Kris is paying for the dress, perks of being rich I guess." I said and she laughed.
"Alright, I'm going to pick out a few dresses and be right back." She said and I just sat there thinking about everything Kris and I have been through since February. Yeah it hasn't been a long time between everything, but Kris and I knew what we wanted when we finally got together, to be together forever and start a family.
"Alright so I have four dresses here, do you want to show each to your group out there or just the ones that you think have the greatest potential of being your dress?" She asked as she unzipped the first bag and started taking out the dress. "Only the dress that I know I'm going to get no matter what they say."
She laughed and helped me into the first dress and I couldn't say that it was the one because I didn't really have that attachment to it like I hoped I would. It was a beautiful dress, just didn't have what I was looking for in it.
I tried on about five dresses before I found the one. "This is the one isn't it?" She asked and I let a few tears fall before nodding my head and wiping them away. "You look absolutely beautiful, come on, let's go show them." She said opening the door and leading me out to the great room.
"Oh my lanta, that's the one isn't it?" Emily asked and I nodded as I stepped up onto the platform. "Kris is one lucky man." Julianna said and I laughed. "I'm one lucky girl, I can tell you guys that." I said as my consultant but the veil on it made everything so real.
"So are you saying yes to this dress?" She asked and I laughed. "I am saying yes to this dress." I said and everyone clapped and gave me a hug. "I'm so proud of you sweetie." My mom said as she hugged me. "You're growing up and I couldn't be more proud of you and Kris." She said.
"I'm who I am today because of you mom. I love you." I said. "I love you too sweetie, but now, we have a flight to Pittsburgh to get to." She said as I was escorted off to get changed and then pay for the dress and make an appointment for the alterations.
Kris and I had planned on getting married in January back in Vegas. Kris and I have chosen the date and the venues and the colors, so we're halfway there with everything. We're touring the venue and doing taste testing during the all star break when we go back to Vegas.
My phone ringing brought me out of my thoughts on the way to the airport. "Hello?" I asked, I didn't bother looking at the caller ID. "Hey baby, you on your way yet?" I heard Kris' voice on the other end.
"Yeah we're on our way to the airport now, what's up?" I asked. "Just wanted to hear your voice, did you find your dress yet?" He asked and I smiled. "I did and I love it and I know you will too." I I said.
"How much?" I knew he didn't care about the price, I just didn't want him to spend that much money on me so I didn't go overboard. "$2,500." I said casually. "That's it?" He asked and I couldn't help but laugh.
"What do you mean that's it? That's a lot." I said. "I mean I thought the dress would be more expensive than that. I thought you would go over the top for it." He said and I sighed. "I'm not an over the top kind of girl, I like simple things, you know that." I said and he laughed.
"Yes you are but I love you anyways. I'll see you when you get here alright?" He said and I smiled. I just saw him last night but I missed him since I'm with him 24/7/ "Yes I will see you when we get there, I love you Kris." I said. "I love you too Sky." He said and then we hung up.
"Was he shocked when you told him the price?" Emily asked as we walked into the airport. "Yeah he thought he would be a lot more expensive." I said and she laughed. "Whenever Anthony and I get married and he offers to pay for the dress I'm going expensive and over the top." She said and I laughed.
"You can get away with it, I like simple things. Our wedding will be over the top with everything we're doing but I want to look simple and beautiful." I said. "You're always beautiful and simple, no need for that on your wedding day." She said and I laughed.
"I'll find a way to make myself look beautiful on my wedding day, don't worry." I said as we boarded the plane and off to finally be with our boys again.
A/N: I'm back with updates, but they won't be very frequent they'll be slow and I'm gonna get back on my Anthony story sometime soon, so look for an update there as well!
